7. Before you start
We recommend cleaning the grill tray (1) in hot soapy water before first use.
Before using it for the first time, heat the grill up for at least 30 minutes to remove any production
residues. This can cause a slight smell, but this is completely normal.
8. Getting started
DANGER! Always place the grill on an even, heat-resistant, solid surface away from combustible
materials, liquids or gases. Leave sufficient clearance to walls and other objects and never leave
the grill unattended while in use and while still hot. Fire hazard!
DANGER! Only use firelighters that comply with European Standard EN 1860-3 to light or
reignite the grill. Never use petrol or methylated spirits. These could cause flash fires or
uncontrolled heat build-up which could lead to serious burns or fires. Risk of burns and fire!
Fill enough barbecue charcoal into the charcoal tray (4) to cover the bottom.
Note: If you have one, you can ignite the charcoal in charcoal chimney starter on a heat-resistant
surface away from the grill.
Now place 2-3 firelighters on the charcoal and light them with a lighter or matches.
Once the firelighters are burning well, carefully fill the charcoal tray (4) with charcoal. Make sure you
do not stifle the firelighters.
You can tell that the charcoal is ready when there is a white layer of ash on top and the firelighters
have burnt out completely.
Now use a suitable metal implement to spread the charcoal evenly around the charcoal tray (4).
Put the grill tray (1) in place, wait a few minutes for the grill tray (1) to heat up and start barbecuing.
Remove the food once it is cooked as you want it.

9. Maintenance/cleaning
Do not clean the grill until it is completely cool. Otherwise there is risk of burn injury!
The grill does not contain any parts that require regular maintenance. For normal cleaning, use a cloth and
water with normal washing-up liquid. Do not use any abrasive or astringent detergents as this could cause
damage.
A household sponge and washing-up liquid are perfect for cleaning the grill tray (1). If the grill tray (1) has
stubborn, crusted-on dirt, it can help to soak it in water before cleaning to soften the dirt. After use, rinse the
grill tray (1) with plenty of clean water to remove food residues.
