Ignition and operation of burners
Gas burners may be ignited by means of electric ignition spark
plug, fitted adjacent to each burner (certain models only).
Single handed ignition
(certain models only)
To ignite the burner, press the selected burner button and turn
it to the maximum power position
. Electric spark from the
ignition device ignites the gas.
If the ignition device is out of order, either due to power failure
or humid ignition device, use a match or a lighter to ignite the
gas.
Ignition with both hands
(certain models only)
To ignite the burner, press the selected burner button and turn it to
the maximum power position
. Now press the ignition device
button. Electric spark from the ignition device ignites the gas.
If the ignition device is out of order, either due to power failure or
humid ignition device, use a match or a lighter to ignite the gas.
Keep the button pressed for approximately 10 seconds after
ignition to stabilize the flame.
If you failed to ignite the burner after 15 seconds, shut
the burner off and wait for at least one minute before the
next attempt.
After that you can set the burning power between high and
low position to suit your cooking requirements.
Button positions between
in are not recommended.
In these positions the flame is not stabilized and may be
extinguished.
If the flame goes out repeat the procedure.
! If the burner flame goes out (for whatever reason), shut the
burner off and wait for at least one minute before next
attempt.
Note: before igniting the burners (triple-ring burner, double-
ring burner, and Mini Wok) cover them with appropriate
cookware.
To shut the burner off turn the button to the right, to the OFF
position
(CLOSED).
Gas faucet is closed
Maximum power position
Minimum power position
To facilitate positioning small dishes on the burner grid, place
the attached support extension over the auxiliary burner.
Cookware
Selection of the adequate dish size ensures optimized cooking
time and consumption of gas. Diameter of the dish is of utmost
importance.
The flame reaching over the edge of the small diameter dish
may destroy the dish, while the consumption of gas is
increased.
Gas needs oxigen for burning. In case of excessively large
dish diameter the oxigen supply is insufficient, consequently
reducing the burning capacity.
The wire grid (certain models only)
The wire grid is used for dishes with small diameter. Place the
grid over the auxiliary burner crown.
Burner type Dish diameter
Large (3,0kW) 220-260 mm
Normal (1,9kW) 180-220 mm
Auxiliary (1,0kW) 120-180 mm
Triple-ring (3,5kW) 220-260 mm
Electric hotplates
Tips for purchasing crockery
Good quality dishes feature thick flat bottom. Uneven
bottom of the dish causes increased consumption of energy
and extended cooking time.
When purchasing new crockery carefully check if the
diameter quoted refers to the upper rim or the bottom. The
latter is usually always smaller.
Use of pressure cookers additionally saves energy, since
food is prepared in a closed dish and under pressure.
Furthermore, shorter cooking time preserves the vitamin
contents.
Tips for effective use of crockery
The best transfer of energy is obtained if the bottom
diameter of the dish is identical to the hotplate diameter, and
if the dish is placed exactly in the center of the hotplate.
If the diameter differs, it is always better to have bigger
crockery than smaller. The loss of energy is greater, and
stains may be burned to the hotplate.
Use pot lids and cover your cookware whenever possible.
The dish size should always suit the quantity of food.
Excessively big pot wastes too much energy.
Reduce power regulation towards the end of cooking, and
switch the hotplate off before cooking is complete, to be able
to use the remaining heat.
Always provide adequate quantity of water when cooking in
the pressure cooker. Lack of water may cause damage to
the dish and to the hotplate.
Temperature resistant glass cookware is suitable for use
with the hotplate if the bottom diameter of such dish is
adequate to the diameter of the hotplate. Dish protruding
over the hotplate edge may break as a consequence of
created thermal tension.
When using special cookware, always follow the
manufacturer's instructions.
