SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Always place the appliance on a dry, level,
firm and heat-resistant surface well away
from any edges.
Always place the appliance at a safe
distance from flammable objects such as
curtains, tablecloths or similar.
The appliance must not be placed or
stored near other sources of heat.
Do not cover.
The surfaces become very hot during use.
Do not touch the hot surfaces due to the
danger of burns.
Do not move the appliance when in use.
Please note that the appliance will remain
hot for a while after you switch it off.
Always allow the appliance to cool down
completely before storage.
The glass lid and ceramic bowl must not
be placed in the oven, microwave oven,
freezer or on a hob or hotplate.
The ceramic bowl must not be exposed
to sudden changes in temperature. If you
pour cold water into the ceramic bowl
when it is hot, it may crack or explode!
Allow the glass lid and ceramic bowl to
cool before cleaning them with water.
Due to the production technique, there is
an area on the underside of the ceramic
bowl which is not glazed. This area is
porous and may absorb water. For this
reason, the ceramic bowl must not be
immersed in water and must be dried im-
mediately after cleaning.
Do not switch the appliance on if the
ceramic bowl is empty or is not in the ap-
pliance.
Do not use the appliance if the glass lid or
the ceramic bowl is cracked or chipped.
BEFORE USE
Remove all packaging and transport mate-
rial from the appliance.
Wash the glass lid and the ceramic bowl
with hot water with a little washing-up
liquid and dry the parts thoroughly.
Place the ceramic bowl inside the appli-
ance.
Note!
You may experience a small amount of smoke
or odour the first few times the appliance
is used. This is completely normal, and the
smoke/smell will soon disappear. Make sure
there is sufficient ventilation.
ABOUT SLOW COOKING
Slow cooking is particularly suitable for cooking
cheaper cuts such as shoulder, breast, shin,
braising steak, osso buco, etc., along with root
vegetables and other vegetables, as the long
cooking time at a low temperature makes the
meat both juicy and tender.
Some foods are not suitable for slow cooking.
Therefore, do not add shellfish, milk, cream or
pasta until shortly before the food is ready.
