IMPORTANT - For preparing the non-stick coating, only use a heat-resistant coo-
king oil (suited for frying). Do not use salad oil, because this type of oil may burn
on the hot grilling plate. After first heating, ensure that the appliance cooled
down to room temperature. Then, drip a little cooking oil on a kitchen cloth and
wipe the non-stick coatings of the grilling plate to prepare the non-stick coatings
for use.
FIRST HEATING
WARNING – During operation, the grilling plate reaches very high tempe-
rature values, and even the exterior of the appliance gets hot. Place the appliance
on a heat-resistant surface with at least 50cm of free space to any other objects
and walls on each side of the appliance. While the appliance is hot, ensure that
the power cord does not touch the appliance. Before touching the grilling plates
with your hands. always leave the appliance completely cool down.
NOTE
As with any other electrical grilling devices, a slightly burnt smell and some smoke
may escape during the very first heating. This is normal and harmless and diminis-
hes during further use. Ensure good ventilation.
6. Place the appliance near a sufficient power outlet (see: ‘Important Safeguards
for Electrical Appliances’). Ensure good ventilation.
7. Ensure that the grilling plate is mounted correctly on the housing and the control
dials are turned to “0” (see: ‘Operation / Preparations’).
8. Completely unwrap the power cord and insert the power plug into the power
outlet. Switch on the appliance via the power switch at the rear of the appliance
(position “I”; see: ‘Operation / Preparations’).
9. Turn both control dials at the console to “MAX” und let the appliance operate
for approx. 10 minutes.
10. Then, turn both control dials back to the OFF position (“0”). Switch off the appli-
ance at the power switch (position “O”) and unplug.
11. Ensure to leave the appliance cool down to room temperature (at least 45
minutes), before rubbing the non-stick coating with some cooking oil.
