contact of the heating elements to the heating circuits in the housing of the appli-
ance automatically.
For cleaning, you should remove the grilling plate from the appliance. This makes
it easier to protect the housing from dripping juices and water. Simple grasp the
handles of the grilling plate and pull the grilling plate upwards.
POWER SWITCH
The appliance is equipped with a separate power switch at the rear of the housing.
Therefore, nobody can activate the heating elements unintentionally. Always switch
off the appliance at the power switch (position “O”), when the appliance is not in
use.
TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS
Temperature and cooking time depend on quality, thickness, type and consistency
of your food as well as your individual liking. If required, check your food during
cooking to reach the desired results. The following tips should help to get your pre-
ferred outcome.
PREPARATIONS
Food should be at room temperature, before cooking. Depending on size and
amount take it out of the refrigerator approx. 1 hour in advance. Defrost frozen
food completely.
Before cooking, cut the food into stripes and slices no more than 2-3 cm (1 inch)
thick.
Tougher cuts of meat (e.g. shoulder) should be marinated for a few hours (over
night) in wine or vinegar to soften them.
IMPORTANT - Do not use any type of baking paper, plastic foil or thin aluminium
foil. In some cases, these types of foil are labelled explicitly for storing and free-
zing, or for usage in an oven (e.g. microwave or range). These types of material
could melt or burn to charcoal or even catch fire! Additionally, unsuited types of
foil could cause overheating and damage to the non-stick coating.
When using marinade, drain the marinade and dab dry the food, before coo-
king, because many types of marinades may burn on the grilling areas leading
to a bitter taste. If you wish to cook your food in the marinade, wrap your food
only in thick, high-quality aluminium foil labelled for grilling.
