You start the WATER function via the WATER button. This function does not perform
any steeping cycle. You can set up the desired temperature before starting the func-
tion. When the set temperature is reached, the appliance switches to the keep warm
function at once (see: ‘Properties of Your New Tea Maker / Keep Warm Function’).
For avoiding high energy loss and surplus evaporation of water, the maximum tem-
perature of the keep warm function is limited to 90°C (194°F).
IMPORTANT - The keep warm function keeps running, even if the kettle has been
removed from the power base intermediately. You need to press the illuminated
start/stop button (in this case the WATER button) for cancelling the keep warm
function.
1. Without the filter system, prepare the appliance for operation (see: ‘Preparing
the Appliance for Operation’). This means: the kettle is closed by the lid.
IMPORTANT - For operation, always correctly close the kettle via the lid. Other-
wise, the temperature control cannot operate correctly and high energy losses and
excessive evaporation occurs. Ensure that the lid set (lid ring and lid) is installed
firmly to avoid that the lid set falls during pouring.
WARNING – The exterior of the kettle and lid set may get hot during ope-
ration! Only touch the kettle and lid by the handles. Boiling water, hot condensate
and steam may cause scalds and damage. Wait until the water stops boiling,
before pouring. Pour carefully to avoid spilling and beware of steam during pou-
ring. You should leave the lid set on the kettle during pouring.
IMPORTANT - Within the complete available temperature range of the appliance,
you can set up the desired temperature just before starting the WATER function.
However, before changing the temperature, ensure that none of the user-defined
programs are selected, because any changes to the settings of these programs
overwrite your former settings.
2. If the desired temperature is not shown on the display, press the TEMP/TIME button
and set up the correct temperature via the selection buttons + or –.
3. Press the WATER button to start the program. The WATER button illuminates. During
heating, a rising bar and the actual temperature within the kettle in steps of 5°C (9°F)
are shown. When the set temperature is reached, an acoustic signal sounds and the
appliance switches to the keep warm function immediately, with the KEEP WARM
indicator illuminating.
4. By the handle, remove the kettle from the power base for pouring. Even without the
kettle, the keep warm function keeps running (see: ‘Properties of Your New Tea Maker
/ Keep Warm Function’). Before pouring, wait a moment until the water stops boiling.
