Selection of Ingredients
Do not process hot or frozen food. Leave your food cool down or warm up to
room temperature.
The following types of foods are NOT suited for the juicer: Starch-containing fruits
(e.g. bananas, avocado, papaya, figs, mango); currant, quince and other fruits
and vegetables of similar consistency; very hard and fibrous foods (e.g. nuts).
Such types of food should be processed with a fruit processor or mixer.
Leaf vegetables and their stems can be juiced also. However, press only very
lightly and slowly on the pusher.
Always use fresh, ripe fruits and vegetables, as these will give you more juice.
You will get best results when juicing pineapple, beet, apple, cucumber, carrot,
various types of pumpkins, tomato, pomegranate, orange, tangerine, and grape.
When juicing apples, the quality of the juice depends on the kind of apples you
use. Please, choose the kind of apples according to your liking. The apple juice
will turn brownish very soon, when coming in contact with air. Thus add some
drops of lemon juice to prevent it from getting brown.
Preparation of the Ingredients
Before processing, wash the fruits or vegetables thoroughly and remove all inedi-
ble parts as stems, seeds and shells. Foods with thin, soft skin do not need to be
peeled (e.g. apples, carrots, radish, etc.). However, thick, hard, or bitter peels
should be removed before juicing.
Cut bigger foods into smaller pieces of approx. 5-6 cm in size.
During Juicing and Thereafter
Do not apply too much pressure onto the food pusher. Only slightly press down
your foods in the feed chute to get the maximum possible amount of juice. It is
best to lift the pusher shortly and push again repeatedly. This holds especially for
soft types of food.
To keep as many vitamins as possible, consume the juice soon after juicing.
However, you may keep the juice in the refrigerator for several hours. The juice
will stay fresh longer, if you add a few drops of lemon juice. Store juices in an
air-tight container.
Especially for little children you should mix the juice 1:1 with water.
