Het oplossen van problemen met patiënttestresultaten
In dit hoofdstuk worden omstandigheden beschreven waarin foutieve patiënttestresultaten kunnen ontstaan. Raadpleeg de
bijsluiter bij de teststrips voor specicaties en de gedetailleerde gebruiksaanwijzing.
Redenen waarom glucoseresultaten hoger kunnen zijn dan verwacht:
het hematocriet is lager dan de acceptabele grens voor de teststrips als aangegeven in de bijsluiter bij de teststrips. •
er zijn serum- of plasmamonsters gebruikt in plaats van volbloed. •
er is veneus bloed getest in de arteriële/capillaire modus terwijl Precision PCx Plus teststrips zijn gebruikt.•
Redenen waarom glucoseresultaten lager kunnen zijn dan verwacht:
het hematocriet is hoger dan de acceptabele grens voor de teststrips als aangegeven in de bijsluiter bij de teststrips. •
hyperosmolaire hyperglykemische toestand (met of zonder ketose). •
ernstige uitdroging, hypotensie of shock. •
er is water of alcohol achtergebleven op de prikplaats. •
een veneus of arterieel volbloedmonster is niet binnen 30 minuten na afname getest. •
er is arterieel of capillair bloed getest in de veneuze modus terwijl Precision PCx Plus teststrips zijn gebruikt.•
Redenen waarom ketonenresultaten hoger kunnen zijn dan verwacht:
het hematocriet is lager dan de acceptabele grens voor de teststrips als aangegeven in de bijsluiter bij de teststrips.•
er zijn serum- of plasmamonsters gebruikt in plaats van volbloed.•
Redenen waarom ketonenresultaten lager kunnen zijn dan verwacht:
het hematocriet is hoger dan de acceptabele grens voor de teststrips als aangegeven in de bijsluiter bij de teststrips.•
er is water of alcohol achtergebleven op de prikplaats.•
Als testresultaten hoger of lager zijn dan verwacht om redenen die hierboven niet beschreven zijn, herhaal de test dan met een
nieuwe teststrip. Als de resultaten nog steeds hoger of lager zijn dan verwacht, neem dan contact op met uw plaatselijke kantoor
of distributeur van Abbott Diabetes Care.
Het oplossen van problemen met controletestresultaten die buiten het bereik vallen
Herhaal de test voor die controleoplossing en zorg dat de operator volgens deze checklist te werk gaat:
Verwijder eventuele luchtbelletjes uit de punt van het flesje controleoplossing. •
Veeg de tuit van het flesje controleoplossing vóór en na iedere test af met een schoon gaasje of doekje. Vloeistof van •
vorige tests die op de punt is achtergebleven kan een glucose- of β-ketonenconcentratie hebben die hoger is dan
verwacht.
Kalibreer de meter met de streepjescode van de gebruikte teststrip. •
Scan het juiste 5-cijferige lotnummer voor de controleoplossingen of voer dit handmatig in. •
Controleer of de controleoplossingen en teststrips bewaard zijn in de condities genoemd op respectievelijk de •
bijbehorende dozen en bijsluiters.
Controleer of de temperatuur in de ruimte waar de tests worden uitgevoerd binnen de bedrijfstemperatuur valt als •
genoemd in de bijsluiter bij de teststrips.
Controleer of de flesjes met controleoplossing niet langer dan 90 dagen geleden zijn geopend. •
Gebruik voor elke test een nieuwe teststrip. •
Gebruik uitsluitend Precision Xceed Pro of PCx Plus teststrips.•
Gebruik uitsluitend MediSense, Precision of Optium controleoplossingen.•
Controleer of de geteste controleoplossing (laag of hoog) overeenkomt met het gevraagde niveau in het afleesvenster.•
Als aan bovenstaande criteria is voldaan maar de testresultaten zijn toch buiten het bereik, herhaal dan de test met een nieuwe
doos controleoplossingen en/of teststrips. Als de resultaten nog steeds buiten het bereik vallen, neem dan contact op met uw
plaatselijke kantoor of distributeur van Abbott Diabetes Care.
