5.15.3 Charger

Safetyinstructionforthechargerandbattery

The name plate on the charger refers to warning

notes and other safety information in connection

with handling the charger.

• Only use the charger supplied with your e-bike.

Only this charger is designed for the lithium-ion

battery used on your e-bike.

• Completely charge the battery using the char-

ger before the rst ride to ensure full battery

performance. Do not connect the charger to the

mains socket immediately after a sudden tem-

perature change from cold to warm. Condensed

water may have collected on the contacts and

this will lead to a short circuit. Wait until both

devices have reached room temperature before

connecting the charger or the battery.

• The battery can be charged directly or in the

e-bike without reducing its lifetime. Interrupting

the charging process does not damage the

battery.

• The battery is equipped with a temperature

monitor that permits charging only within the

speciedtemperaturerange.

the battery. This refers to warning notes and other

safety information in connection with handling the

charger. Be sure to read this before use.

Please note the temperature ranges of the battery

and charger that have to be observed:

Battery operating temperature: -5 °C to 40 °C

Battery storage temperature: 10 °C to 40 °C

Charging temperature range: 0 °C to 40 °C

5.15.4 Batterywarnings

• Do not let the battery fall, do not throw

it and avoid high impacts. These can

causeleaks,reorexplosion.

• Do not use force when handling the bat-

tery. If the battery is deformed, the integ-

rated protective mechanism may be da-

maged.Thiscancausereorexplosion.

• Do not use the battery if it is damaged.

The liquid inside can leak and cause

loss of vision if it comes into contact

with eyes. Avoid contact with the li-

quid. If you do come into contact with

it,washito󰀨withplentyofwaterand

seek medical assistance immediately.

• The battery is classed as a hazardous

material! Remove the battery if you

want to perform any work on the pe-

delec, e.g. maintenance or assembly.

• There is a risk of injury or electric

shock if you unintentionally press the

On/O󰀨 button. Damaged batteries

must not be posted.

• Never open the battery. This can

cause a short circuit. If the battery is

opened, all warranty and guarantee

claims are rendered void.

• Do not store or transport the battery

with metal objects that could cause

a short circuit, e.g. paper clips, nails,

screws, keys, coins. A short circuit can
