The "Basis 1 AlT" work module
is
used to lit the
Festool portable circular
ATF
55,
ATF
55 E or ATF 55
EB.
Other portable circular saws may not be used
lor safety reasons.
The "Basis 1
AlT" work module and "Mod 1 A /
ATF

trim saw module have been designed for cor-
reet
use and installation
in
the "Basis Plus" base
unit.
The "Basis 1
A",
"Pallas 50" Basis-Set has been
designed to cut wood, wood-like materials and pla-
stics in consideration of their technical data.
If the
portable circular saw is fitted with Festool saw blade
439686
it
can also be used to cut aluminium.
The "Basis 1
A",
"Pallas 50" Basis-Set can be opera-
ted
by one person. The working position
is
in
front of
the table to the left of the saw (Fig.
16
and 17).
The "Basis 1
A",
"Pallas 50" Basis-Set should not be
operated or stored outdoors or
in
a wet environ-
ment.
The users shall be liable for damages and accidents
due to incorrect use.
4 Please read before
starting
work
4.1
Safety
instructions
Pie
ase
read the following salety instructions, the
safety instructions on the enclosed leaflet
and
the
operating instructions for the portable circular saw
before starting work
- Check that the saw
is
fastened properly
in
the
work module and that the work module
is
fixed
to
the "Basis Plus" before starting the tool
-
If
used
as
a trim or bench saw the protective
cover and support must be fastened
to
the guide
( Exception: concealed cuts) The protective cover
must
be
lowered workpiece.
- The workpieces must always be guided with or
laid against a stop.
- Keep a safe distance away from moving saw bla·
des: keep your fingers together when working.
Use a guide handle for longitudinal cuts
in
work-
pieces narrower than
120 mm.

4.2 Residual
risks
Risks may still arise despite the observance or
all
building regulations, e.g. through:
- workpiece parts flying off,
- damaged tool parts flying off,
- wood dust emissions,
- noise emissions.

Construction
5.1
Setting
up
the
"Basis
Plus"
base
unit
("Palfas
50"
Basis-Set
without
foldaway
legs)
The foldaway legs (2.1) are screwed
in
pi
ace at the
joints (2.5) after unfolding.
The "Basis Plus" base unit should be placed
on
firm,
smooth base. Adjust the
bevelled caps (2.2)
on
!wo
legs so that the "Basis Plus" base unit does not
wobble.
Screw the bolts (1.5) into the threads (3.2),
so
that
the guide handle can be hung on these.
5.2
Locking
the
connecting
rod
The connecting
rod
is
released
by
pressing lightly
against the handle (4.1) and can then
be
pulled for·
wards. The connecting rod can
be
locked
in
!wo
positions with the lever (4.3):
- Groove (4.4) = front position,
- Groove (4.2) = rear position.
