Avoid placing your hands anywhere where in the
case of a sudden movement one or both hands can
come into contact with the saw blade.
Let the saw get up to full revolutions before you start
sawing.
Press the saw head downwards so that the motor is
not overloaded and the saw blade does not get
jammed.
If you need to remove jammed material, first let the
saw blade stop turning completely, switch the motor
off and take the plug out of the socket.
At the end of the sawing process, keep the saw head
downwards, switch off the machine and wait until all
moving parts has come to a stop before you take
your hands off the machine.
MOTOR
Connect the machine to a 220/230 V~ socket.
If the motor does not start, immediately release the
switch. Take the plug out of the socket. Check that
the saw blade can turn freely. If so, try starting the
machine again.
To prevent damaging the motor must be regularly
freed of chips and dust to ensure correct cooling.
If the motor suddenly stops while sawing, let go of
the switch immediately. Loosen the saw blade from
the piece of work, after which sawing can continue.
Using long cables of too small a diameter can result in
loss of voltage, which can lead to problems with the
motor.
For a length up to 15 metres a cable must be used
with a diameter of 1.5 mm

For a length of between 15 and 40 metres a cable
must be used with a diameter of 2.5 mm

3. ASSEMBLY AND ACCESSORIES
INSTALLATION OF THE MITRE SAW
Figs. 1 and 2
Remove the machine from the packaging. Slide the
metal stop (13) onto the extension piece (6) (make
sure that it is slid onto the extension piece such that
the top is flat and level).
Place one extension piece (6) with the stop (13) on
the right-hand side of the machine and the other
extension piece (6) on the left-hand side of the
machine.
Position the machine so that you can easily reach the
underside. Move the extension pieces (6) a little way
back and slide the clamps supplied onto a bar of the
extension piece. Now slide the extension pieces
back into the machine so that the ends of the bars are
in the holes. Now slide the clamp against the outside
of the machine and screw the screw tight with a
crosshead screwdriver. Press the rubbers supplied in
the holes underneath in the footplate. Then put the
machine upright again.
Pull the extension piece out at the back of the
machine so that it cannot travel any further.
Place the work piece clamp (7) on the left or right
side of the machine.
Hold the handgrip and move the saw slightly
downwards and then pull the pin (5) out slightly so
that the machine comes free.
Note: Never use the mitre saw without the extension
pieces supplied. Make sure that they are correctly
mounted.
CHANGING THE SAW BLADE
Fig. 3
Only use saw blades that are sharp and
undamaged. You must immediately replace
chipped or bent saw blades.
Make sure that the plug is not in the socket!
Lock the head of the machine in its highest position.
Unscrew the screw (14).
Move the hood (17) forwards. Push the saw blade
interlock (10) in and unscrew the bolt (15) with the
key supplied.
Remove the saw blade flange (16) and change the
blade. Make sure that the blade is mounted in the
machine correctly: with the arrow on the blade
pointing clockwise.
Replace the flange (16) and push the interlock (10) in
and screw the bolt (15) tight again.
Move the hood (17) back and screw the screw (14)
tight again (clockwise).
Make sure that both flanges correctly enclose the
saw blade, so that the saw blade turns in a straight
line without any sideways movement.
ADJUSTING THE SAW ANGLE
Fig. 2
The mitring angle is 45º, both left and right.
Press down the locking button (9) for setting the
mitring angle and use the handle to move the
turntable to the left or right. The entire saw moves in
the direction required.
When you release the locking knob, the saw will not
turn any further than the next angle shown on the
calibration scale.
The turntable clicks into place at the following
angles: 0º, 15º, 22.5º, 30º and 45º (both left and right).
SETTING UP THE DOUBLE SAWING ANGLE
/ MITRING
Fig. 2
Adjust the first angle as described for adjusting the
saw angle (above).
Turn the knob (11) anticlockwise and then set the
angle desired (you can read this off on the back of the
machine -18). Then tighten the knob (11) again by
turning it clockwise.
Note: With double mitring the saw blade is more
exposed because of the large angle. So there is a
greater chance of injury. Keep your hands a good distance
from the saw blade!
CHANGING THE CARBON BRUSHES
Fig. 1
Make sure that the plug is not in the socket!
Unscrew the covers (3) with a flat bladed screw-
