1) Using a wire hook, take out the filter from the
filler port.
2) Disassemble the filter and wash with gasoline,
or replace with a new one if needed.
Oil filter

With a wire hook, take out the oil filter through the
filler port and clean in gasoline. When putting the
filter back into the tank, make sure that it comes
to the front right corner. Also clean off dirt in the
tank.
Spark plug replacement

Defective and burnt-out spark plugs must be
replaced. Use only original spark plugs.
Disconnect the connector of the spark plug.
Remove the spark plug by unscrewing with a
pair of pliers.
Check the gap of the spark plug electrodes,
which must be 0.6 ~ 0.7 mm.
Inner Sprocket Cleaning

Check for cracks and for excessive wear
interfering with the chain drive. If the wear is
considerable, replace it with new one. Never fit a
new chain on a worn sprocket, or a worn chain on
a new sprocket.
Saw chain

It is very important for smooth and safe
operation to always keep the cutters
sharp.
Be sure to wear safety gloves.
For inexperienced users of the chainsaw,
we recommend to have the chain
sharpened by a specialist from any
authorized service.
When using an incorrectly sharpened
chain, a higher risk of kickback can occur.
After sharpening the cutting teeth 3 or 4
times, have the saw chain sharpened in
any authorised service. They will sharpen
the depth limiter as well, which provides
the distance.
To gain well shaped sawdust particles,
use a sharp chain. If wooden powder
appears, you must sharpen the saw
chain.
All cutting teeth must be similarly long.
Different lengths of teeth can cause
rough running of the chain or its rupture.
The cutters need to be sharpened when:
1. Sawdust becomes powder-like.
2. You need extra force to saw in.
3. The cut path does not go straight.
4. Vibration increases.
5. Fuel consumption increases.
Cutter setting standards:
Before filing:
Make sure the saw chain is held securely.
Make sure the engine is stopped.
Use a round file of proper size for the chain.
1) Place the file on the cutter and push straight
forward.
2) Keep the file position as illustrated (fig. 18).
3) After each cutter has been filed, check the
depth gauge and file it to the proper level as
illustrated (fig. 19).
4) Make sure every cutter has the same length
and edge angles as illustrated (fig. 20).

Reverse the bar occasionally to prevent partial
wear.
The bar rail should always be square. Check
for wear of the bar rail. Apply a ruler to the bar
and the outside of a cutter. If a gap is observed
between them, the rail is normal. Otherwise,
the bar rail is worn. Such a bar needs to be
corrected or replaced.
