The blade is properly tensioned and aligned.
The base of the band saw machine must be placed on
or secured to a solid and level surface or bench.
Never apply sideward pressure on the blade as this
may cause the blade to break.
Be careful when cutting wood with knots, nails or
cracks in it and/or dirt on it, as these can cause the
blade to get stuck.
Never leave the band saw machine unattended.
The teeth of the blade must point downwards.
WHEN USING THE MACHINE:
Clamp the workpiece to the saw table. Support the
workpiece to prevent it from breaking, making sure
your hand is behind the blade and moves away from
it. The arm that holds down the work must not cross
the arm that operates the band saw machine.
Never remove wood chips and suchlike that are
close to the blade with your hands. When wood
chips get stuck between fixed and/or moving parts,
stop the band saw machine before removing them.
When cutting small pieces of wood use a pusher
block to feed the wood along the blade.
The saw blade is one of the most important
components of your band saw machine. Selecting the
right material, teeth, as well as correct fitting of the
blade not only prolongs the life of the blade, but also
prevents it from breaking and cracking with all its
consequences.
Be careful when cutting scrap wood. As the quality of
the cut is not important, the user tends to be less
concentrated, not to check the wood for nails, knots
or other irregularities, and to put undue pressure on
the blade.
Never use long extension cables.
Do not use saw bands which are damaged or
deformed.
Replace table insert when worn.
When cutting round timber use a suitable device to
prevent twisting of the workpiece.
When bevel cutting with the table inclined, place the
guide on the lower part of the table.
Connect band saws to a dust collecting device when
operating.
Do not operate the machine when the door or guard
protecting the band is not closed.
Adjust the guard as close as possible to the piece to
be cut.
Take care that the selection of the band saw and the
speed depend on the material to be cut.
SWITCH OFF IMMEDIATELY IF:
The band saw machine becomes overheated.
The cord and/or plug are defective or damaged.
The switch is defective.
Insulation material starts to smell or burn.
3. INSTALLATION
MOUNTING THE BASE PLATE
Make sure that the protruding parts of the base plate
are fastened to the side of the motor.
Fasten the base plate to the bottom of the machine
with 4 bolts.
MOUNTING THE BAND SAW MACHINE
The band saw machine has to be mounted on a
permanent location. The band saw machine has to be
secured to a flat surface, such as a bench.
Position the band saw machine.
Mark the four holes with a pen or pencil.
Remove the band saw machine and drill four holes
with a diameter of 10 mm where marked.
Reposition the band saw machine and from the top
insert the M10 bolts provided. Fit the washers and
tighten the nuts underneath.
MOUNTING AND ALIGNING THE BAND
SAW TABLE
Fig. 2-4
Disconnect the machine from the power supply.
Remove the bolt and butterfly nut from the table (A)
to remove the table.
Put table (A) on the band saw frame (B) (see Fig. 2),
making sure the mounting rib (C) on the frame fits
into the groove in the table.
Lock the table in horizontal position by means of the
table locking knob (A) (see Fig. 3).Tighten the table
locking knob by means of the Allen key, moving the
grip of the knob backwards to prevent it from
turning. When the table is almost locked, use the grip
to secure tightly.)
Retighten the bolt and butterfly nut.
Use a small square (A) to check the position of the
table (see Fig. 4). If the table is not properly locked
proceed as follows:
Loosen the locking nut by means of an open-ended
spanner.
Completely loosen bolt (C) in the frame by means of
the Allen key provided. Slightly loosen knob (B) (see
Fig. 4) and move the table, making sure it is at right
angles to the side of the bench.
Retighten knob (B).
Retighten bolt (C) until it touches the frame of the
band saw machine (i.e. clockwise).
Retighten the locking nut.
Set the graduated scale at 00 (see Fig. 4).
Check that the table is at an angle of 45° when the
graduated scale indicates 45°.
If not, repeat the above steps.
Mount the fence and insert the pointer into the groove
in the table.
BLADE TENSIONING
Install blade.
Turn tension lever clockwise until spring begins to
compress.
To set proper tension turn lever 2 additional turns.
