become overheated very quickly if the cooling fluid runs out
during sawing. Replace old cooling fluid to prevent lumps
forming. Otherwise, this can cause the fluid pump to become
blocked and the formation of bacteria in the cooling fluid can
cause skin irritation.
When sawing magnesium, use special cooling fluid to prevent
the magnesium sawdust from igniting.
Never use a saw band whereby less than three teeth are
touching the workpiece at the same time.
When using the machine
The workpiece must be clamped to the sawing table.
Metal residue or similar which are to be found in the immediate
vicinity of the saw may not be removed by hand. If there is metal
residue jammed between stationary and/or moving parts, the
machine must be stopped before the metal residue is removed.
The saw band is one of the most important parts of a saw
machine. The correct choice of material, the teeth, as well as
the correct way of assembling increase not only the life span of
the saw band, but also prevent cracks or breaking and the
dangers resulting from this.
Sawing of scrap material must be done with care. Because the
quality of the saw cut is not important in this case, the user is
more inclined to saw without concentrating, not to check
irregularities and to push firmly through with the saw.
Remove the tension from the saw band if you are no longer
going to use the saw machine. This will lengthen the life span of
the saw band.
Clean the machine properly after using cooling fluid to prevent
corrosion.
Immediately switch off the machine when
Interruption in the mains plug, mains lead or lead damage.
Defect switch.
Smoke or stench of scorched isolation.
Unpacking and clean-up
Finish uncrating the saw. Inspect it for shipping damage. If any
damage has occurred, contact your distributor.
Unbolt the saw from the skid and place it on a level surface.
Clean rust protected surfaces with kerosene, diesel oil, or a
mild solvent. Do not use cellulose based solvents such as paint
thinner or lacquer thinner. These will damage painted surfaces.
Electrical safety
When using electric machines always observe the safety
regulations applicable in your country to reduce the risk of fire,
electric shock and personal injury. Read the following safety
instructions and also the enclosed safety instructions.
Always check that the power supply corresponds to the
voltage on the rating plate.
Replacing cables or plugs
Immediately throw away old cables or plugs when they have been
replaced by new ones. It is dangerous to insert the plug of a loose
cable in the wall outlet.
Using extension cables
Only use an approved extension cable suitable for the power input
of the machine. The minimum conductor size is 1.5 mm

. When
using a cable reel always unwind the reel completely.
3. ASSEMBLY
Place blocking under the ends of the saw base to allow wheel
installation.
Caution: Make sure saw is steady while temporarily supported.
Slide wheel axles through holes in base.
Slide wheels onto axles and fasten with pins. Bend pins to hold
in place.
Slide material stop bar (A, Fig. 1) into base and secure by
tightening bolt (B). Slide material stop (C) onto bar and tighten
bolt (D).
Slide belt cover over pulley assemblies and fasten with screws
and washers (A, Fig. 2).
Close belt cover and secure with lock knob (B).
Remove transportation strap and keep for later use should the
saw be moved any distance.
Coolant tank preparation
Disconnect bandsaw from the power source before
making any repairs or adjustments! Failure to comply
may cause serious injury!
Use of a water-soluble coolant will increase cutting efficiency and
prolong blade life. Do not use black cutting oil as a substitute.
Change cutting oil often and follow manufacturers instructions as to
its uses and precautions.
Disconnect machine from the power source.
Remove coolant return hose from tank cover.
Slide tank out of saw base and carefully remove lid containing
coolant pump.
Fill tank to approximately 80% of capacity.
Place lid back onto tank and place tank assembly back into
base.
Replace return hose back into hole in tank lid.
Hydraulic feed selector operation
The hydraulic feed selector is used to control the blade feed rate and
to lock the arm in the vertical position. To increase the feed rate, turn
knob (A, Fig. 4) counter-clockwise. To decrease the feed rate, turn
knob (A) clockwise. To turn off the flow of hydraulic fluid, turn lever
as in figure 6. To turn the hydraulic cylinder on, raise lever (B) to the
12 o’clock position.
4. OPERATION
Check to see blade tooth direction matches diagram on saw
body.
Check to see that blade is properly seated on wheels after proper
tension has been applied.
Set blade guide roller bearings snug against blade. See
“Adjusting Blade Guide Bearings” for more detail.
Check for slight clearance between back up rollers and back of
blade.
Position both blade guides as close to work as possible.
Material to be cut must be held securely in vise.
Check to see that coolant level is adequate.
Do not start cut on a sharp edge.
Keep machine lubricated. See “Lubrication” section.
Changing blade speed
Disconnect machine from the power source.
Loosen motor plate lock bolt (A, Fig. 5).
Loosen motor plate slide bolt (B) until belt can be moved on the
pulleys.
Move belt to the desired pulley combination.
Tighten motor plate slide bolt (B) to re-tension belt.
Tighten motor plate lock bolt (A).
Connect machine to the power source.
