Analogue RCA stereo input: This is the standard input for all common analogue sources in the consumer
electronics field. Here you can connect the source by means of the RCA cable (“D”, see p.1) which is part of
the accessory kit.
Sources which are connected to this input are mixed together with the signals coming from the inputs 4.)
and 5.).

Analogue 3.5 mm TRS jack stereo input: This is the so called AUX input, which is especially suitable for
sources with a low output level such as headphone outputs from mp3-players, notebook PCs, small radios
etc.
Note: If you plug-in a TRS plug in this input, all other inputs will be muted (turned off).

Binding posts for connecting the slave speaker: Connect the speaker cable which is part
of the scope of delivery to these 2 binding posts and connect it to the slave speaker. Take
care of connecting the “+” of the master speaker with the “+” of the slave speaker. For a
better orientation, the 2 poles of the speaker cable are made of different materials. In
case you need a different length of the cable, you can use any commercially available
speaker cable.

USB jack for direct connection of the AM 50 to a PC. Because of the USB interface which is implemented in
the AM 50, you can directly connect the master speaker to a PC. The AM 50 will log-in to the system as
standard stereo soundcard.
Note: If you would like to use this kind of connection, please make sure to choose an adequately loud
volume in the PCs system control and the correct audio output device.

USB jack for connecting the ELAC wireless receiver, which is optionally available. If you own the ELAC
wireless set, you have the possibility to feed your AM 50 with audio signals wirelessly. Use one of the short
USB cables (within scope of delivery of the wireless set) to connect the wireless receiver to the AM 50
MASTER.

Mains inlet. Connect the female plug of the power cord to this jack.
7.
Mains switch. To switch off the AM 50, please use this switch. No stand by current is
drawn out of the mains if the AM 50 is switched off.
Note: If you want to disconnect the AM 50 MASTER all-phase from the mains, you have
to pull out the mains plug.
8.
Mains fuse: In case this fuse is blown, please check first what the reason for blowing the
fuse was. You may contact a technician to assist. Only fuses of same type and value have
to be used.
9.
Voltage selector switch: You can adapt the operating voltage of the AM 50 to your local
energy supplier by means of the voltage selector switch. Only use this switch if the
selected mains voltage is not correct for your country.
