INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
A further suggestion:
To light the re the rst time, always use small pieces of wood.
They burn more quickly and thus bring the replace to the cor-
rect temperature more quickly.
Use larger pieces of wood to refuel the re.
Always place the wood well back in the replace, almost in
contact with the back wall of the same, so that even it if slips it
will not touch the door.
First lighting
The replace paintwork is subject to the so-called ageing phe-
nomenon until the normal working temperature is reached for
the rst time.
This may give rise to an unpleasant smell.
In this case, air the room where the replace is installed ad-
equately.
The phenomenon will disappear after the rst few times the
replace has been lit.
Lighting a cold replace
To light the stove use small blocks of wood (20-25 cm in
length, making up an amount of about 3 kg), positioned verti-
cally at the back of the rebox.
Push the control above the top completely in (see Fig. 2 page
38).
Lighting can be performed in the following manner:
- MANUAL LIGHTING = lighting the wood with a relighter
and closing the door
- AUTOMATIC LIGHTING = using the remote control and
pressing key “A” for 2 seconds starts the pellet lighting-phase,
which allows wood burning.
Light the wood using a relighter and close the door. As soon
as the ames have died down and a good bed of embers has
been formed, load the rebox with a normal amount of wood
(do not exceed the maximum amount specied in the table on
Page 32).
If the re is too intense we recommend partially closing the pri-
mary air valve (in manual mode) using the appropriate control
(see Illustr. 2 see Page 38) positioned parallel to the bottom of
the rebox.
The stove will operate differently depending on the draw in the
chimney and adjustment of the combustion air valve.
During the initial operating period it may take a little while
to nd the correct adjustment of the combustion air valve to
obtain the best operation from the stove.
It should be noted that if an insufcient amount or excessively
large pieces of wood are used to light the stove the combustion
chamber will not reach the optimum operating temperature,
resulting in poor combustion and the formation of an excessive
amount of smoke.
NOTE:
do not use alcohol, petrol, kerosene or other liquid fuels to light
the re.
Keep liquid fuels away from the re.
Do not use relighters made from petroleum or chemical sub
stances: they may cause serious damage to the rebox walls.
Use eco-friendly relighters only.
Overloading (over 3,1 kg/h) or excessively lively ames may
damage the rebox compartment.
ATTENTION:
If the hearth is fuelled by an excessive amount of fuel or an
improper fuel, the danger of overheating can occur with conse-
quent damage to the product.
Adding fuel when the replace is hot
Open the door and place the desired quantity of wood onto the
existing embers (without exceeding the quantity limits given in
the technical table).
The wood will heat up with the consequent expulsion of the
humidity content in the form of steam. This will lower the
temperature inside the replace which must be compensated
quickly with a sufcient input of combustion air.
Functioning in mild weather
To suck in air for combustion and to release the fumes, the
replace needs the draught created by the ue.
As the outdoor temperature increases, so the strength of the
draught decreases. If it is warmer than 10°C outside, check the
ue draught before lighting the re.
If the draught is weak, rst light the re in “start-up” mode us-
ing small pieces of fuel.
Once a correct draught has been reached, normal sized fuel can
be introduced.
Adding fuel
To add more wood, it is advisable to use a protective glove.
Open the door slowly.
This will avoid the formation of air eddies which can cause the
smoke to puff out into the room.
When is the right moment to add wood? When the fuel has
been burnt almost to embers.
Removing the ash (only when the stove is out and cold)
Remove the ash with a dustpan or a vacuum cleaner.
Place the ash only in non-combustible containers; remember that
remaining embers can re-light even 24 hours after burning.
