Safety Instructions
Workplace Safety
Keep your working area clean and well lit. Untidiness or unlit working areas can lead
to accidents.
Do not work with this device in potentially explosive atmospheres containing
ammable liquids, gases, or dusts. The device produces sparks which may ignite the
dust or the vapours.
Keep children, animals and other people away from the device during use. If you are
distracted, you may lose control of the device.
Electrical Safety
To prevent the risk of electric shocks, keep the device away from rain and moisture.
The device should only be connected to a properly installed socket with earthing contacts.
The socket must also be readily accessible after connection. The mains voltage must
match the technical data for the device (see the "Technical Data" chapter). Only use
suitable extension cables whose technical data is the same as that of the device.
The device plug must t into the plug socket. It must not be changed in any manner.
Ensure that it is not possible for others to trip over the connected device cable. Do
not allow the cable to hang over the edge of tables or kitchen counters. Others may
become caught and pull the device down.
Lay the device cable in such a way that it does not become squashed or bent and
does not come into contact with hot surfaces or water.
Avoid physical contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, heaters, stoves and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed.
Hold the device by the insulated handle surfaces when carrying out work in which the
screw may hit hidden power cables. Contact of the screw with a live cable may also
apply a voltage to metallic parts of the device and result in an electric shock.
Do not use the cable to support or suspend the device or grab the cable to pull the
plug out of the socket. Keep the cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges, and moving
device parts.
If it is not possible to avoid operating the device in a moist environment, use a residual
current circuit breaker.
The Proper Handling of Batteries and Chargers
Only charge up the batteries using chargers which are recommended by the
manufacturer. For a charger which is suitable for a certain kind of battery, there is a
risk of re if it is used with other batteries.
Only use batteries which are intended for the device. The use of other batteries may
result in damage to the device which may in turn cause injuries and a risk of re.
Caution! Do not expose the battery and the device to high temperatures. For
example, do not leave it lying in the sun for too long.
