Instructions for use POWERSTROLL
Drive Medical GmbH & Co. KG | As per: 04.05.2021 | Errors and alterations excepted
EN
Relief strap
The PowerStroll pushing
aid is supplied with a
relief strap so that the
wheelchair can also be
moved without the Po-
werStroll. Lift the device
with the red pull cord and
place the loop around the
push handle (photo 15).
Battery
Follow the instructions below step by step:
Charging the battery
1. Switch o the pushing aid.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Insert the round plug of the charging unit into the
charging socket of the battery.
4. Insert the power cord of the charging unit into the
outlet.
5. The LED of the charging unit is lit and red when the
battery is being charged. The charge time is about
8 hours, depending on the charge status of the bat-
tery. For optimal performance, a charge time of 12
hours is recommended.
6. The LED changes from red to green when the bat-
tery is fully charged.
7. Switch o the charging unit, unplug the power cord,
and pull the round plug out of the battery pack.
Battery care
1. Unplug the charging cable only after the battery has
been fully charged. The service life of the battery
shortens drastically if the battery is repeatedly used
when not fully charged. Therefore ensure that the
battery is fully charged each time.
2. Always charge the battery until the LED changes
from red to green. NEVER interrupt the charging
process before it has been completed.
3. When the battery is fully charged, the charging unit
starts maintenance charging to ensure an optimal
range.
4. If the pushing aid is not used for a longer period of
time, charge the battery at least once per month in
order to keep the battery in a fully charged state at
all times.
5. The environmental temperature has an eect on the
charge time and capacity of the battery. The range
is decreased at cold temperatures and the charge
time is increased.
6. Do not leave the charging plug inserted in the bat-
tery if the charging unit is unplugged since this
drains the battery and the range is reduced.
7. Only use the charging unit supplied and fully charge
the battery each time. The battery can become
damaged if a charging unit which does not meet the
specifications is used.
8. Do not disassemble or modify the charging unit.
9. Charge the battery in a well-ventilated room where
the battery is not exposed to direct sunlight. Do not
charge the battery in a damp or wet environment.
10. Do not charge the battery at temperatures below
-10°C or over +50°C since such temperatures can im-
pair the function of the charging unit and the battery
can become damaged.
11. During charging, keep the battery away from flam-
mable objects and open flames, since the battery
could ignite or burst.
12. Do not smoke during charging since the battery can
release hydrogen gas. Always charge the battery in
a well-ventilated room.
13. During charging, never disconnect or connect the
plug or the cable with wet hands; if they are wet, this
can lead to an electrical shock.
14. The battery warranty is good for six months. This
warranty applies only to manufacturing errors and
not to errors which can be attributed to incorrect
charging not in accordance with the instructions.
Charging unit
The charging unit supplied has an LED which changes
color depending on the charge status:
If the LED is lit and RED, the charging unit is switched
on and charging.
If the LED is lit and GREEN, the charging unit is
switched on, the majority of the charging has been
completed, and the battery can be used. However, it
is recommended to leave the charging unit to continue
charging for several more hours after the green LED
appears. The battery performance is maintained or
increases as a result.
The LED is also lit and GREEN if the charging unit is
switched on but not connected to the battery.
