MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

TIP: Prevent canvas and window material from getting into con-
tact with materials which contain rubber or PVC such as: boots,
cables, doormats, plastic covers or something similar. Because
of softeners being used in numerous materials brown spots
can start to appear inside the canvas and window material which are
impossible to remove.
Window material
The window material used in awnings, is made from relatively soft
materials. This means that the otherwise very smooth window material,
by folding it between the other materials, can copy the relief of zips,
canvas and mud walls into the window material. When you store the
awning after you have camped, we would like to advise you to lay out
all the panels, which have the window material, as flat as possible and
not roll them tightly. The chances of these mentioned unevenness’ from
occurring will then diminish largely.
Regarding the window material we also would like to mention that every
new awning, which comes straight out of the packing, is likely to have
these unevenness’ in the window material. When the awning is erected
and tightly tensioned in warm weather conditions for a longer period of
time, these unevenness’ will largely disappear. However window material
is very complex material and therefor minor unevenness’ will need to be
accepted as this is inherent to the material.
3.4 All about zips
Dorema only uses zips of the top quality makes YKK, Opti and DSD in
all their awnings. The durability of these zips largely depends on the way
people treat them. Try to open and close zips with two hands as much
as possible. At first zips can run a bit heavy. This will improve as time goes
by. When you erect the awning you need to avoid too much tension from
getting onto the zips.
The use of the two slider zip system
Both sliders should be moved to the dividable section of the zip when
you want to take out a front or side panel. This dividable section consists
of two narrow metal insert parts. These insert parts combined with the
two sliders will offer the opportunity to divide the zip. The outer slider
should be moved so far to the end of the zip until the two narrow metal
