4 Maintenance
4.5 Cleaning the hygienic
exhaust filter
The hygienic exhaust filter (Fig. 33) filters the finest par-
ticles out of the exhaust air.
Checking: Check the hygienic exhaust filter regularly, at
least every 3 – 6 months.
Cleaning: If you find that the filter is dirty, clean it as de-
scribed below:
1. Switch the appliance off and follow the instructions
specified under Zchapter 3.3, "Switching off the appli-
ance and retracting the power cord".
2. Release the exhaust filter cover by the recessed handle
provided for this purpose (Fig. 32/1) and remove it.
3. Remove the hygienic exhaust filter by pulling the tab
provided for this purpose (Fig. 33).
4. Clean the hygienic exhaust filter by tapping out the dirt
into a dustbin.
If this proves to be insufficient, remove the dirt with a
soft brush, e.g. the furniture brush supplied with the ap-
pliance.
5. If such dry cleaning is not sufficient, rinse out the filter
afterwards in clear, cold water.
6. Put the cleaned hygienic exhaust filter back into its re-
ceptacle with the tab pointing up (Fig. 33).
7. Then replace the exhaust filter cover by hooking it in
with the top side first (Fig. 34/a). Lock the cover by
pressing firmly until you hear and feel it snap into place
(Fig. 34/b).
ATTENTION:
The filter is washable, but it may not be cleaned in dish-
washers or washing machines. Do not use cleaning
agents to clean the filter. Let the filter dry after cleaning
(approx. 24 hours at room temperature). Only put it back
into the appliance when it is completely dry.
NOTE:
It might be necessary to push a bit harder.
Make sure when doing this that the cover clicks fully into
place behind both projections provided for this purpose
(Fig. 35). Otherwise the cover and possibly even the
exhaust filter will fall out easily.
