9.7.2.3 RS (room sealed) connection
The appliance is provided with a flue ring. It should be attached air-tight (room sealed) to your flue duct.
A room sealed connection can be made in the following ways:
Fixed connection: When making a fixed connection, the flue material must be connected air-tight to the flue
ring. Do this with the aid of heat resistant paste.
Flexible connection: When making a flexible connection, the flexible tube must be connected air-tight to
the flue ring using the heat resistant paste.
In case of a flexible connection, proceed as follows (see appendix 2, fig. 5a to 5c):
Ø
Remove the flame baffle plate.
Ø
Disassemble the connecting piece by loosening the 3 nuts from the inside.
Ø
Pull the flexible pipe through the chimney.
Ø
Fix the draining flex/fix connecting piece to the flexible pipe, using 3 self-tapping screws.
CAUTION!
Apply heat resistant paste between the connecting collar and flexible hose for an air-tight connection.
Ø
Push the flexible pipe including the connecting piece back in the chimney.
Ø
Slide the fire into place.
Ø
Insert a hand through the flue hole and grasp the connecting piece handle.
Ø
Pull the flexible pipe with the connecting piece downwards.
Ø
Fasten the flexible connecting piece to the appliance with 3 bolts.
Ø
Mount the flame baffle plate.
!Caution
The handle in the flexible connecting piece (see appendix 2, fig. 5b) can be broken out after installation. This is not
necessary but can be desirable for sweeping the chimney.

9.7.2.4.1 Vermiculite
The fire’s vermiculite plates are located on the bottom against the side walls of the appliance. In the following
situations the vermiculite plates must be taken out:
When disassembling the air slide valve (see section 9.7.2.1).
To be able to reach the adjustable legs (see section 9.6).
When replacing the vermiculite plates.
The bottom plates are first removed and the side plates last. The insertion of the vermiculite plates takes place in
reverse order.
!Caution
Make sure that the vermiculite plates are replaced in the original position!
9.7.2.4.2 Flame baffle plates
On delivery the flame baffle plates (see appendix 2, fig. 23) are located in the top section of the appliance. The
flame baffle plates must be removed in a number of situations:
when mounting and checking the flue gas exhaust connection;
when performing maintenance at the flue duct;
when replacing the flame baffle plates.
For removing the flame baffle plate, proceed as follows:
!Caution
Follow the instructions below. Then repeat these instructions on the other side of the appliance.
Ø
Lift the left side of the flame baffle plate until it gets above the edge and slide the flame baffle plate to the right.
Ø
Lower the left side of the flame baffle plate and slide the flame baffle plate to the left.
Ø
Slide the right-hand side of the flame baffle plate over the edge.
Ø
Slide the flame baffle plate to the left and lower it until it reaches the lower section of the appliance.
Ø
Now you can remove the flame baffle plate.
Placing the flame baffle plate takes place in reverse order.
!Caution
The stainless steel profile must be placed at the front with the screw heads on top (see appendix 2, fig. 23).
