5.6 Brakes adjustment
As soon as brakes begin to lose efficiency, it is
necessary to recover the wear of the brake shoes.
Adjustment can be effected by means of the
adjusters at the brake levers (fig. 22):
* Unlock the lock nut (A).
* To tighten the brake, unscrew the hollow
screw (B).
* Lock the lock nut (A) making sure that the
hollow screw (B) does not turn with it.
* Spin the wheel to check that it turns freely
and test brake efficiency.
* Readjust if necessary. Try to obtain the
maximum braking efficiency before that the
brake lever touches the handlebar.
When it is no more possible to recover the brake
efficiency only through the brake levers adjusters,
replace the brake shoes at any repair shop.
The two shoes of each brake are to be at the
same distance from the rim: the two screws (C)
of fig. 23 allow to adjust this distance, if
necessary.
5.6 Einstellung der Bremsen
Sobald keine Bremswirkung mehr erzielt werden
kann, muss der Verschleiß der Bremsenelemente
mit Hilfe der Spannschrauben in den Bremsba-
ckenhaltern (Abb. 22) ausgeglichen werden.
* Die Gegenmutter lösen.
* Zur Steigerung der Bremskraft: Die
Schraube (B) lockern.
* Die Mutter (A) wieder anziehen und dabei
die Schraube (B) festhalten.
* Das Rad drehen, um sicherzustellen, dass es
sich frei bewegt und die Bremskraft prüfen.
* Gegebenenfalls die Einstellung wiederholen.
Die Einstellung ist optimal, wenn auch dann
eine wirksame Bremsung erzielt wird, wenn
der vollständig angezogene Bremshebel die
Lenkstange nicht berührt.
Kann die Bremskraft nicht durch Einwirken auf
die Spannschrauben wieder hergestellt werden,
die Bremsbeläge in einer Reparaturwerkstatt
ersetzen.
Die zwei Backen der beiden Bremsen müssen
den gleichen Abstand von der Felge aufweisen:
falls erforderlich, kann der Abstand mit Hilfe
der zwei Schrauben (C) der Abb. 23 eingestellt
werden.
5.6 De remmen afstellen
Zodra de remmen kracht beginnen te verliezen,
moet de slijtage van de remblokjes worden
gecompenseerd met de spanschroeven op de
uiteinden van de remhendels (afb. 22):
* Draai de contramoer los (A).
* Om de rem nauwkeuriger te maken: schroef
(B) losdraaien.
* Draai de moer (A) weer aan terwijl u de
schroef (B) op zijn plaats houdt.
* Controleer of het wiel vrij draait en de rem
doeltreffend werkt.
* Herhaal het afstellen als dat nodig is. De rem
is optimaal afgesteld als de driewieler goed
remt wanneer de remhendel niet tegen het
stuur komt terwijl u hem toch maximaal
indrukt.
Als het u niet lukt de driewieler goed te laten
remmen, moeten de remblokjes worden
vervangen door een fietsenmaker.
De twee remblokjes van elke rem moeten zich
op dezelfde afstand ten opzichte van de velg
bevinden: met de twee schroeven (C) van afb.
23 kan deze afstand zonodig ingesteld worden.
