Basic safety instructions
The appliance is intended to be used in household only and similar environments like:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments
- in farm houses
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments
- on bed and breakfast type environments.
Repairs of Cloer electronic appliances should be carried out only by authorized Cloer specialist
dealers or by the Cloer customer service.
Improper repairs can involve substantial dangers for the user. Moreover, it will void your
warranty claims.
Operate the appliance only at household-usual power sockets. Check if the mains voltage
stated on the type plate is the same that your power supply network. The device must be
connected to a power outlet with protective ground.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Cloer, its service agent or similarly
qualified persons in order to avoid any hazards.
Pull power plug of the power socket
- in case of a defect.
- if the appliance is not used for a longer time.
- before any cleaning.
- when unsupervised.
- before taking off the lid.
Only pull out at the plug, never at the feed cable.
Do not tighten the feed cable too tight as otherwise the appliance is likely to tip over.
Do not stretch the feed cable over sharp edges.
Do not use the feed cable for carrying and protect it from heat (hotplate / open flame).
This appliance can be used by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and knowledge can use the product if they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved.
This appliance must not be used by children. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made
by children. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children to ensure they do not play
with it.
Do not use the appliance outdoors.
Protect your appliance from humidity (splash water / rain).
CAUTION! - The grinding mechanism of the coffee grinder is sharp. Danger of injury!
- Only ever use the coffee machine for preparing coffee. Never fill the device with any other
liquid or food.
- Never operate the coffee machine without coffee beans, the grinding mechanism and the
grinding mechanism cover (unless the grinding function is switched off), and the lid.
- Avoid injuries resulting from improper use of the device.
CAUTION: Do not fill the jug with water above the MAX mark. There is a risk of scalding if it
bubbles over
- Never operate the device without water.
- Allow the device to cool completely before cleaning or storing.
- The hotplate of the device continues to emit residual heat after use. Risk of burns!

Before the first use
Read these operating instructions
carefully before using the appliance
for the first time.
Remove all packing parts and possibly stickers, but
not the type plate nor the serial number.
Place the filter coffee machine on a dry, slip-resistant
and level surface.
Clean the coffee machine with a damp cloth.
Before preparing coffee for the
first time, you should let 12 cups of
water pass through the filter coffee
machine, once or twice.
To do so, proceed as described under “Initial Ope-
ration, but without any ground coffee or filter bag.
Afterwards, pour the water away.

of the applicable CE directives.
The appliance is designed
for indoor domestic use only.
ATTENTION!
Always unplug the appliance when
not in use and before cleaning.
Design
If you wish to reduce the capacity of the coffee
bean container (from 400 g to 180 g), please
proceed as follows:
First make sure that the device is no longer connec-
ted to the electricity network.
If you wish to make the bean container smaller by
dismounting the bean container extension, please
ensure that the bean container is empty and does
not contain any old coffee beans.
Take the lid of the bean container off.
Undo the two screws in the bean container and re-
move the bean container extension (number). Finally,
put the two screws back in and fasten them securely.
Set the desired grinding level.
Now you can fill the container with beans (max. 180g)
and put the lid back on.
Initital operation
Setting the grinding level and filling with beans
Choose the desired grinding level with the aid of the 10-
step grinding level setting (on the bean container).
You can set the grinding level in ten steps ranging
from very fine (thinner bar) to coarse (thicker bar)
Turn the knob so that the arrow points to your desi-
red degree of grinding.
We recommend one of the middle settings for optimal
filter coffee.
Advice
The thinner the bar, the finer the grinding; the thi-
cker the bar, the coarser the grinding!
Advice
If you wish to change the grinding level but cannot
turn the knob, let the machine run once more on
the old grinding level setting and then try again.
Fill the coffee bean container with coffee beans if this
has not already been done, and shut the lid. When
filling with beans, please ensure that the lid of the
water tank is closed so that no beans fall into it.
Now connect the mains plug into the socket.
Time setting
Press TIME once briefly, and the hours display will start
to flash.
Now press on M/H as long as is needed until the right
hours are showing.
Press TIME once briefly, and the minutes display will start
to flash.
Now press on M/H as long as needed until the right mi-
nutes are showing.
Press TIME once briefly. The time is now set.
Setting the timer
The time symbol and the hours display are now flas-
hing again.
Proceed from the 2nd point of the time setting.
The timer is activated when the time symbol and the
time are flashing alternately.
To turn the timer off, press on TIME. The time symbol
disappears and the flashing stops.
Press TIME to activate or deactivate the timer. If the
time symbol is shown and the time is flashing, the
