Playing CDs / MP3
This is how you play a CD
1. Turn the FUNCTION function selector switch (6) to
the „CD“ position.
2. In order to open the CD compartment (11), press the
PUSH/OPEN button (12).
3. Insert an audio CD with the printed side facing up-
wards on to the central cone so that the CD clicks into
place and then close the lid of the CD compartment.
4. If the letters USB go on in the display, hold the ̈ II
PLAY/PAUSE (14/3) button down for approximately
3 seconds until the letters USB go off. The device is
now in CD mode.
5. After a few seconds the total number of songs/tracks
is shown in the display (13).
6. Press the ̈ II PLAY/PAUSE button (14) (3 on the re-
mote control) in order to play the CD. The CD will play
from the fi rst title. The track currently being played, ̈
or ̈ MP3 are shown in the display (13).
7. To remove a CD, press the ˾ STOP key (15) (4
on the remote control), open the CD deck with the
PUSH/OPEN key (12) and take out the CD carefully.
Always keep the CD deck closed.
Note: If a disc has been inserted incorrectly the symbol
„_ _ _“ fl ashes in the display, whereas if no disc is
inserted the symbol „_ _ _“ fl ashes fi rst followed by the
word „no“.
Note: Playback of CDs produced by the user cannot be
guaranteed due to the large variety of software and CD
media available.
Description of the CD buttons
̈II PLAY/PAUSE (14/3)
1. You can briefl y interrupt and resume playback using
this button. The symbol ̈ ashes in the display.
Pressing again continues playback.
2. USB CD switching:
Hold the button down for approx. 3 seconds until
the letters USB go on in the display. The device is
now in USB mode.
Hold the button down for approx. 3 seconds until
the letters USB go off in the display. The device is
now in CD mode.
İ̇ / ̈̈I SEARCH/SKIP (16/5)
With an audio CD or a CD in MP3 format playing:
With ̈̈I you can jump to the next or next-but-one track etc.
If the button is kept pressed down, the machine starts
to search through the tracks.
If the button is kept pressed down in stop mode the
machine quickly plays through the songs until the
desired track is reached. When the ̈ II PLAY/PAUSE
button is pressed the track begins to play back.
The İ̇ button can be used as follows:
Press once = This starts the current track again
from the beginning.
Press twice = This jumps back to the previous
track.
Press three times = This plays the song before etc. If
the button is kept pressed down, the
machine starts to search through the
tracks. If the button is kept pressed
down in stop mode the machine quic-
kly plays through the songs until the
desired track is reached. When the ̈
II PLAY/PAUSE button is pressed the
track begins to play back.
˾ STOP (15/4)
The CD stops.
MUTE (7 on the remote control)
This serves to switch off the volume instantly. When you
would like to hear sound again, press the MUTE button
once more.
MODE (17/8)
Press once = (the REPEAT emits a fi xed light) the
current track is repeated continuously.
Press twice = (the REPEAT ALL emits a fi xed light)
the whole CD is played continuously.
Press three times = the display (13) contains the word
RANDOM and the track number that
is to be played fi rst. All tracks are
played back in random order.
Press four times = all functions are cancelled. The
normal play mode is resumed.
Only for CDs in MP3 format
Press once = the current track is repeated con-
tinuously (REPEAT appears in the
display).
Press twice = the selected folder of the MP3 CD
is repeated continuously (REPEAT
ALBUM appears in the display). The
individual folders can be selected
with the ̈ / ̇ FOLDER buttons
(6 on the remote control) and FOL-
DER ̈ / ̇ (10 on the device).
Press three times = the whole CD is played continuously
REPEAT ALL appears in the display).
Press four times = the display (13) contains the word
RANDOM, MP3 and the track num-
ber that is to be played fi rst. All tracks
are played back in random order.
Press fi ve times = the function is deactivated and the
CD is played in the normal mode.
FOLDER ̇ (10/6)
Press this button during playback to change to a folder
further down. The display, e.g. ALBUM 001, fl ashes brief-
ly. Then the CD begins to play back automatically. If the
button is pressed in stop mode the display also fl ashes.
Then start playback with the ̈ II PLAY/PAUSE button.
FOLDER ̈ (10/6)
Press this button during playback to change to a higher
folder. See the above paragraph for the following step.
Note: Some keys are to be found both on the device
itself and on the remote control. Keys with the same
designation have the same function.
