Once the fat has melted and the correct oil level is reached
you can set the desired temperature on the thermostat.
Under no circumstances should you place the fat in the
deep frying basket!
3. In order to reduce the acrylamide content of food containing
starch (potatoes, cereals) the temperature during deep-fat
frying should not exceed 170°C (or possibly 175°C). Fur-
thermore, the frying time should be kept as short as possible
and the food only fried until it turns golden yellow.
4. Please note that the safety switch (6) is operated when the
control element is inserted into the guide mechanism.
5. Choose the right frying temperature and check the condi-
tions of the food to be fried. A rule of thumb is that pre-fried
foods require a higher temperature than raw foods.
6. Do not carry or move the deep fryer if the oil or grease is still
hot.
7. When frying dough-like foods scrape off the excess dough
and put the pieces carefully into the oil.
8. Please ensure that the handle of the deep fat frying basket
has been correctly attached.
Fold the handle so that it is locked in place in an upward
position.
The deep fat frying basket must not be more than 2/3
full. Do not over ll the frying basket (The maximum
lling quantity for chips is 200g per litre of oil/fat).
9. Rub dry humid foods with a cloth before frying.
Caution: In the case of foodstuffs which are too moist (e.g.
frozen chips etc.) large amounts of foam may form, which
under certain circumstances may cause the oil to overfl ow.
Use
1. Make sure that the appliance is unplugged and switched off
(The control lamps (1,
2) are off.).
2. Take the lid off the deep fryer.
3. Remove the frying basket and fi ll the container with oil or
grease (maximum 2,0 l). The fi lling level must be located
between the minimum and the maximum level.
4. Insert the plug into a 230 V, 50 Hz power socket. The green
POWER control lamp (1) lights up. Set the desired tempe-
rature by turning the temperature control (3) (Min. – approx.
130°C, middle position – approx. 160°C, Max. – approx.
190°C).
5. The red TEMP control lamp (2) lights up. Once the set
temperature has been reached the red control lamp goes
off. Place the frying basket containing the items to be fried
carefully into the hot fat.
6. The red control lamp switches on and off several times
during frying. This is normal and it indicates that the
temperature is controlled by the thermostat and is being
maintained. Once the frying time is over (the frying times are
to be found on the packaging of the food or in the recipe),
please take out the frying basket.
7. Allow the oil to drain off the food being fried by suspending
the deep-frying basket on the edge of the frying fat contai-
ner.
8. In order to switch off the machine, please turn the tempera-
ture regulator to OFF and remove the plug from the socket.
Wind the mains lead up in the form of a spiral in the cable
compartment.
Cleaning
1. Make sure that the plug is pulled out.
2. Wait until the deep fryer is completely cool before cleaning.
Wait in any case for 1 to 2 hours after use before using
again to avoid burns.
3. Pull the control device (5) out by lifting it. In order to change
the oil, pull the frying fat container out and pour the oil out to
the side.
4. Do not immerse the device in water.
5. Clean the deep frying fat container, the lid and the housing
with a damp clothand household detergent if necessary.
6. The deep frying basket can be cleaned in the usual way in
soapy water.
7. Avoid using abrasive materials or sharp objects. These may
damage the deep fryer!
8. Reassemble the deep fryer and push the control device (5)
back into the guide mechanism.
Troubleshooting
Device is not working
Troubleshooting:
Check the mains connection.
Check the position of the thermostat.
Other possible causes:
The device is fi tted with a safety switch (6).
This prevents the heater being switched on accidentally.
Troubleshooting:
Check that the control element is correctly in place.
Overheating Protection
If you should accidentally switch on your deep fat fryer
when there is no oil or fat in it the overheating protection is
automatically turned on. The appliance is no longer ready
to be used. Unplug the deep fryer.
Only after the device has been left to cool down completely
should the „RESTART“ button (11) on the rear of the control
element be operated in order to use the deep fat fryer again.
Please use a pointed object for this purpose. The RESTART
button on the front of the control device has no function.
