2 x 1.5 V Micro AAA batteries
(non-rechargeable)
Recharging the LiPo rechargeable
battery
Make sure you only charge the LiPo rechargeable battery
supplied with the LiPo charging unit also supplied (USB ca-
ble). In case you try to charge the rechargeable battery with
a different LiPo battery charger or any other battery charger,
this might cause serious damages. Please carefully read the
previous chapter about warnings and guidelines on the us-
age of rechargeable batteries before proceeding.
The rechargeable battery fitted in the car with its USB charg-
ing cable can be charged from a USB port on a computer:
2
Charging via computer:
Connect the USB charging cable with the USB
port of a computer. The LED on the USB charger
cable lights green indicating that the charger unit
is correctly connected to the computer.
If you plug in a car with a discharged battery, the
LED on the USB charging cable lights up red and
shows that the car battery is being charged. The
USB charging cable and the charging socket on
the car are designed to make incorrect connec-
tion impossible.
It takes about 20 minutes to recharge a dis-
charged battery (but NOT a deep-discharged
one). When the battery is fully charged, the LED
display in the USB charging cable lights up green
again.
Note: When supplied, the lipo-battery is already partially
charged so the first charging cycle may well take less
time.
It is essential to follow the connection sequence given
above! If you have the charger cable only connected to
the car, and not to a source of electricity, a green LED
display indicates that there is still power in the battery.
The green LED display does not necessarily indicate the
battery is still adequately charged.
While charging, the power switch must be in the “OFF”
position.
Inserting the batteries
3
Open the battery compartment with a screwdriver
and insert the batteries in the remote control. Ple-
ase keep in mind the correct polarity. Different ty-
pes of batteries or new and used batteries are not to
be mixed. After having closed the compartment
you can check all functions of the remote control
with the help of the power-switch on the front.
With the power-switch turned ON and proper
functioning, the top center LED on the remote
control will light up red.
Now you can drive the car
4
The Carrera RC car and the remote control are
bound as a factory setting.
1. Switch the car ON at the ON/OFF switch. The
LED on bottom of the car will flash rhythmically.
5
2. Switch on the controller. The LED on top of the
controller will flash rhythmically.
After a few seconds, the LEDs on the car and on
the controller will light continuously, meaning the
bind has been made.
Let’s practise!
6
CAUTION! This vehicle reaches speeds up to
20 km/h (13 mph). Practice on an empty surface
at least 4 metres (13.1’) square. When first start-
ing, be very careful when operating the gas
pedal.
Now it’s time to practise! Set up a Carrera RC
vehicle racing track in a large empty area, us-
ing cornerposts, empty cans, or similar objects.
The basic technique to adopt when operating a
Carrera RC is to drive fast on the straight sections
and to slow down in the curves.
Avoid constant motor operation.
If the car switches itself off several times one
after another, the battery is dead. Please re-
charge the battery.
After 30 minutes inactivity, the controller
and vehicle switch off automatically. To re-
start, switch the ON/OFF switch on the con-
troller & the car to OFF and then back to ON.
To switch off after use, follow the steps in
the reverse order.
Always recharge the battery immediately
after use to prevent its becoming deep dis-
charged.
Clean the Carrera RC car after use.
Controller functions

Differential Steering
You can use the joysticks to carry out precise
steering and driving manoeuvres.
Joystick left and right: Forwards and backwards
with steady movement of left and right joysticks at
the same time.
Steer the car to the right by pushing the left-hand
joystick forwards and releasing it again.
8
Flip action stunts
The flip can be triggered by moving both joysticks
quickly and simultaneously in opposite directions
either upwards or downwards to the stop, and the
car turns a somersault.
360 ° turn
9
By moving both joysticks and steadily up and
down in opposite directions the vehicle can be
made to rotate 360 ° on the spot..
10
Thanks to 2.4 GHz technology, up to 16 cars can
be run together on one race-track. This is possib-
le even without harmonising frequencies between
the racing drivers.
Troubleshooting
Problem
Car does not move.
Cause: Either the switch on the controller or the car is set
to OFF.
Solution: Switch on
Cause: The rechargeable battery in the car or the controller
battery is too weak.
Solution: Please recharge battery
Cause:
The car has come to a stop at an obstacle.
Solution: The voltage surge protector has switched the car
off. Turn the ON/OFF switch on the car to OFF, then back to
ON, and place the car on a clear surface.
Cause:
The battery or rechargeable battery in the transmitter
or model is too weak.
Solution: Insert new battery or recharged battery.
Cause: The remote control is possibly not correctly frequen-
cy bound with the receiver on the model
Solution: Carry out a frequency bind between the model
and the remote control as described in “Now you can drive
the car”
Cause:
The transmitter has switched itself off after 30 minutes.
Solution: To restart, switch the ON/OFF switch on both con-
troller & vehicle to OFF and then back to ON.
Cause: The vehicle is very warm.
Solution: Switch both car and controller off and allow the
car to cool down for about 30 minutes.
Problem
Car cannot be controlled.
Cause: Vehicle starts moving unintentionally.
Solution: First turn on the transmitter, only then the vehicle.
