Description
3.3.5 Système de freinage
Le système de freinage d’un vélo électrique est
principalement commandé via le levier de frein.
Lorsque le levier de frein gauche est tiré, le frein
de la roue avant est actionné.
Lorsque le levier de frein droit est tiré, le frein de
la roue arrière est actionné.
Les freins sont utilisés comme dispositif d’arrêt
d’urgence et entraînent un arrêt rapide et sûr en
cas d’urgence.
L’activation des freins par le levier de frein se fait :
soit par levier de frein et câble à gaine (frein
mécanique)
soit par levier de frein et ligne de frein hydraulique
(frein hydraulique).
3.3.5.1 Frein mécanique
Un fil dans l’intérieur du câble à gaine (également
appelé câble Bowden) relie le levier de frein au
frein.

3.3.5.2 Frein hydraulique
Le liquide de frein est placé dans un système de
tuyau fermé. Si le cycliste tire sur le levier de frein,
le liquide de frein actionne le frein sur la roue.
