Open the lid. The nozzle must always be positioned securely in the burner. There must be a
distance of at least 30 cm. between the gas bottle and the barbecue.
Insert a lighted match in the opening at the bottom, and at the same time open gas supply to the
brass gas control tap
Check that the burner is lighting on both sides. If the burner does not light at the first attempt,
shut off the gas supply and wait five minutes so that the unburned gas can dissipate. Then
repeat the lighting procedure from step 3.
Preheat the barbecue for about 3 minutes at the highest setting. The temperature can then be
adjusted by turning the adjustment screw on the brass gas control tap. In windy weather, the
flame may go out on a low setting. Keep an eye on the burner when regulating the gas supply.
TIPS FOR USE:
The lid can be used as a windshield. For this it can be hung on the bottom of the grill with the two
holders on the lid. Always use the grill on a firm heatproof surface
Cover is for transport, storage and to be used as windshield only, NEVER use as oven
during barbecuing.
MAINTENANCE:
Regularly check the air gap between the gas valve and the burner, this should not become clogged.
CLEANING:
The frequency of cleaning the grill depends how many times the grill is used. The parts cannot be
cleaned in a self cleaning oven. The heat will be to strong and this will damage the surface of the
parts.
CLEANING THE LAVA ROCKS:
When the lava rocks are dirty/greasy turn them around and burn the grill on full heat without the lid.
BURNER:
After moving the grill always check if the burner is still in the right place.
LEAKAGE:
Every time the grill is connected to the gas cylinder check for leaks with soapy water.
HOSE:
As soon as the hose shows signs of damage, check the hose with soapy water. Replace the hose with
the first sign of leakage. Always shut down the gas when parts are removed.
Always make sure there is no obstruction in the hose.
STORAGE:
By turning the legs up over the lid the grill can be closed. Remove the hose first. When the grill is
going to be used again, always check for leaks with soapy water.
