Take care that the dust protection cap 4 is not
damaged when changing tools.
SDS-plus Tools
The SDS-plus tool is designed to be
freely movable. This causes
eccentricity when the machine is off-
load. However, the drill automatically
centres itself during operation. This
does not affect drilling precision.
Inserting (Fig. )
Clean and lightly oil the tool before inserting.
Insert the dust-free tool into the tool holder 3 with
twisting until it latches.
The tool locks itself. Check the locking by pulling on
the tool.
Removing (Fig. )
Pull the locking sleeve 5 to the rear (a) and hold while
removing the tool (b).
Srewdriver Bits (Fig. )
For screwdriver bits, use the SDS-plus adapter 16
(optional accessory).
Tools without SDS-plus
Do not use tools without SDS-plus for hammer
drilling or chiselling!
PBH 220 RE
(Fig. )
To work with tools without SDS-plus (e.g., drills with
cylindrical shafts), a drill chuck 17 with a SDS-plus
chuck shaft 18 (optional accessory) must be inserted
into the tool holder.
(Fig. )
Insert the dust-free, assembled chuck into the tool
holder 3 with twisting until it latches.
The chuck locks itself. Check the locking by pulling on
the chuck.

Tool Insertion (Fig. )
Hold the holding ring 19 firmly and turn the front
collar 20 until the tool holder is open wide enough.
Insert the tool, hold firmly the holding ring 19 and turn
the collar 20 in the direction of the arrow until it
latches. Then clamp the tool by continuing to turn
forcefully until ratcheting sounds can clearly be heard.
Check the seating by pulling on the tool.
Note:
After opening the tool holder to the stop, it can happen
during the subsequent closing that the functional
ratcheting sound is heard and the tool holder does not
close.
By turning the sleeve 20 opposite to the direction of
the arrow, this ratcheting sound is switched off and the
tool holder can be closed.
For screwdriver bits, insert a commercially available bit
holder. Stick the screwdriver bits into the bit holder.
Use only screwdriver bits that fit the screw heads.
Screwdriver bits may also be inserted without a bit hol-
der.
Tool Removal (Fig. )
To remove a tool from the quick clamping replacement
drill chuck, hold firmly the holder ring 19 and turn the
front collar 20 in the direction of the arrow until the
tool can be removed.
System Accessories
