Cylinder 2 with valve (B)
2nd cylinder with priority/secondary control via 3-way valve ( Fig. 23, page 175)
Selectable priority cylinder (cylinder 1 – top, 2nd cylinder – bottom)
Cylinder charging only switches over to the low priority cylinder via the 3-way valve if the high priority
cylinder cannot be heated any further.
While the low priority cylinder is being heated, the solar pump is switched off at adjustable test intervals for
the duration of the test in order to check whether the high priority cylinder can be heated up (change-over
check).
Cylinder 2 with pump (C)
2nd cylinder with priority/secondary control via 2nd pump ( Fig. 26, page 177)
Function as Cylinder 2 with valve (B), but the 2 solar pumps are used instead of the 3-way valve to switch
between the high priority and low priority cylinder.
The 2nd coll. array (G) function cannot be combined with this function.
Central heating backup cyl 2 (D) ()
Solar central heating backup with buffer or combi cylinder ( Fig. 24, page 176)
Function similar to Central heating backup (A), but for the 2nd cylinder. If the cylinder temperature
exceeds the return temperature of the heating system by the set switch-on temperature differential, the
cylinder is integrated in the return via the 3-way valve.
Ext heat exchanger cyl 1 (E)
External heat exchanger for solar system at cylinder 1 ( Fig. 22, page 175)
If the temperature at the heat exchanger exceeds the temperature at the bottom of cylinder 1 by the set
switch-on temperature differential, the cylinder primary pump is switched on. The frost protection function
for the heat exchanger is ensured.
Ext heat exchanger cyl 2 (F)
External heat exchanger for solar system at cylinder 2 ( Fig. 25, page 176)
If the temperature at the heat exchanger exceeds the temperature at the bottom of cylinder 2 by the set
switch-on temperature differential, the cylinder primary pump is switched on. Frost protection for the heat
exchanger is ensured.
This function is only available if function B or C has been added.
2nd coll. array (G)
2nd collector array (e.g. east/west direction, Fig. 29, page 179)
Function of both collector arrays according to solar thermal system 1, but:
If the temperature at the 1st collector array exceeds the temperature at the bottom of cylinder 1 by the set
switch-on temperature differential, the left solar pump is switched on.
If the temperature at the 2nd collector array exceeds the temperature at the bottom of cylinder 1 by the set
switch-on temperature differential, the right solar pump is switched on.
