Safety Notes
General Power Tool Safety Warnings
Read all safety warnings and all in-
structions. Failure to follow the warn-
ings and instructions may re sult in electric shoc k, fire
and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instru ctions for future reference.
The term “p ower tool” in the warnin gs refers to your mains-
operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cord-
less) power tool.
Work area safety
Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark ar-
eas invite accidents.
Do not opera te power tools in explosi ve atmos-
pheres, such as in the presence of flammable liq-
uids, gase s or dust. Power tools create sparks which
may ignite the dust or fumes.
Keep children and bystanders away while operating
a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose con-
trol.
Electrical safety
Power tool p lugs must match the outlet. Never mod-
ify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs
with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified
plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric
shock.
A void body contact with earthed or gr ounded sur-
faces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refriger-
ators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your
body is earthed or grounded.
Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Water enteri ng a power tool will incre ase the risk of elec-
tric shock.
Do not abuse the c ord. Never use the cord for carry-
ing, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord
away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving parts.
Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of elec-
tric shock.
When op erating a power tool outdoors, use an exten-
sion cord suit able for outdoor use. Use of a cord suit-
able for outdoor u se reduces the risk of elec tric shock.
If o perating a power tool in a damp location i s una-
voidabl e, use a residual cu rrent device (RCD) pro-
tected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the ri sk of elec-
tric shock.
Personal safety
S tay alert, w atch what you are do ing and use com-
mon sense when operating a power tool. Do not use
a power tool while you are tired or under the influ -
ence of drugs, alcohol or medic ation. A moment of in-
attention while operating power tools may result in seri-
ous personal injury.
Use pers onal protective equipment. Always wear
eye protection. Protectiv e equipment such as dust
mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing pro-
tection used for appr opriate conditions will reduce per-
sonal inj uries.
Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is
in the off-position before connecting to power
source and/or battery pack, picking up or car rying
the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the
s w i t c h o r e n e r g i s i n g p o w e r t o o l s t h a t h a v e t h e s w i t c h o n
invites accidents.
Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning
the power tool on. A wrench or a ke y left attached to a
rotating part of the power tool may result in persona l in-
jury.
Do not overreach. Keep proper f ooting and balance
at all times. This enables better control of the power
tool in unexpected situations.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewel-
lery. Keep your hair, cl othing and gloves away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can
be caught in moving parts.
If devices are provided for the connection of dust ex-
traction and collection facilities, ensure these are
connected and properly used.
Use of dust collection
can reduce dust-related hazard s.
Power tool use and ca re
Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power
tool for your application. T he correct pow er tool will
do the job better and saf er at the rate for which it was
designed.
Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn
it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled
with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or
the battery pack from the power tool before making
any adjustme nts, changing access ories, or storing
power tools. Such preventive safety measure s reduce
the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
Stor e idle power tools out of the reach of children
and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power
tool or these instructions to operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained us-
ers.
Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and a ny
other condition that may af fect the power tool’s op-
eration. If damaged, have the power tool repaired
before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly main-
tained power tools.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Pr operly main-
tained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less
likely to bind and are easier to control.
Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in
accordance with these instructions, taking into ac -
count the working conditions and the work to be per-
formed. Use of the power tool for operations differ ent
from those intended could result in a hazardous situa-
tion.
Battery tool use and care

manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of
b at t e r y p a c k m a y c r ea t e a r i s k o f f i r e wh e n u s e d w i t h a n -
other battery pack.
Use power tools only with specifically designated
battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may cre-
ate a risk of injury and fire.
When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from
other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys,
nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can
make a connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery termi nals together may cause
burns or a fi re.
Under abusive conditio ns, liquid may be ejected
from the battery; avoid contact. If contact acciden-
tally occurs, flush with water. I f l i q u i d c o n t a c t s e y e s ,
additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected f rom
the battery may cause irritation or bur ns.
Service
Have yo ur power tool serviced by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts. This
will ensu re that the safety of the power too l is main-
tained.
Safety Warnings for Cordless Tackers
Always assume that the tool contains fasteners.
Careless handling of the tacker can result in unexpected
firing of fasteners and personal inj ury.
