Bosch Power Tools 1 609 92A 1A3 | (1.6.15)
Switching Off
Release the On/Off switch 1. When the On/Off switch 1 is
locked, press the On/Off switch first and then release.
Wet drilling: Shut the water cock 9. After finishing work, dis-
connect the water outlet connector 8 from the water supply.
Open the water cock 9 and drain the remaining water.
Reduced starting current
The electronics of the power tool make the motor start softly,
therefore preventing the starting current from being too high.
Restarting Protection
The restarting protection feature prevents uncontrolled
restarting of the machine after an interruption in the power
supply.
To restart, press the “RESET” button on the portable residu-
al current device (PRCD) 3. Then switch the On/Off switch 1
to the off-position and switch the power tool on again.
Preselecting the Speed
Two speeds can be preselected using the gear selector 10.
The gears are recommended for the following drilling diame-
ters:
Working Advice
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug.
Always use a centring cross (accessory) when starting the
drilling procedure without the use of a drill stand.
Start drilling in 1st gear at low speed until the core bit rotates
vibration-free in the material. Afterwards switch to the 2nd
gear, if required.
While drilling, adapt the feed pressure to the material being
drilled. Drill with uniform pressure. Lightly pull the core bit
out of the bore from time to time so that the drilling sludge or
drilling dust can be removed from the core bit segments.
Overload Clutch
If the tool insert becomes caught or jammed, the drive
to the drill spindle is interrupted. Because of the forces
that occur, always hold the power tool firmly with both
hands and provide for a secure stance.
Overload Protection
If the overload threshold is exceeded, then the power tool will
begin to pulsate noticeably. Reduce the feed pressure until
the power tool works normally again.
If the feed pressure is not reduced, then the power tool will
switch off. You can then switch the power tool back on
straightaway, but you should continue to work with reduced
feed pressure.
Removing the Core
Wet drilling: After drilling, continue to run the water for a short
period in order to flush out the drilling sludge between the
core bit and the core.
If the drilling core is stuck in the core bit, then apply light
blows onto the core bit with a piece of soft wood or plastic in
order to loosen the core. If required, pry the drilling core out
of the core bit using an appropriate hand tool (slotted screw-
driver or similar).
Note: Do not hammer or apply blows onto the core bit with
hard objects (danger of deformation)!
Maintenance and Service
Maintenance and Cleaning
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug.
For safe and proper working, always keep the machine
and ventilation slots clean.
Clean the drilling spindle 15 after finishing work. Occasionally
spray an anti-corrosion agent onto the drilling spindle and the
core bit 14.
If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has to
be done by Bosch or an authorized Bosch service agent in or-
der to avoid a safety hazard.
