Always direct the cable to the rear away from
the machine.
When drilling use the auxiliary handle.
Hold tools by insulated gripping surfaces
when performing an operation where the
cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or
its own cord.
Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed
metal parts of the tool “live” and shock the op-
erator.
Do not drill, fasten or cut into blind areas
where electric, gas or water lines may exist.
Use appropriate detectors to determine if
these lines are hidden in the work area or
call the local utility company for assis-
tance.
Contacting electric lines may cause fire or
electric shock. Striking a gas line will probably
result in explosion. Breaking into a water pipe
will cause property damage or may cause an
electric shock.
If the drilling tool jams it will cause the tool to
jolt. If this occurs switch the tool off immedi-
ately.
When working with the machine, always hold it
firmly with both hands and provide for a secure
stance.
Be careful when screwing in long screws; dan-
ger of sliding off.
For screws, work using the first gear or with a
low speed.
Place the machine on the screw/nut only when
switched off.
Always switch off the machine and allow to
come to a stop before placing it down.
Never allow children to use the machine.
Bosch is only able to ensure perfect function-
ing of the machine if the original accessories
intended for it are used.
Ring Gear Chuck (Figure A)
Insert tool and tighten equally in all 3 bores with
chuck key 7.
Keyless Chuck (Figure B)
Inserting the tool
Grip rear collar of keyless chuck 8 and rotate
front collar until chuck is open sufficiently for tool
to be inserted.
Clamping the tool
Grip rear collar and manually rotate front collar
until tight. An audible “click” indicates that the
chuck has automatically locked.
The locking mechanism is automatically released
when the front collar is rotated in the opposite di-
rection in order to remove the tool.
Screwdriver Tools
When using screwdriver bits 9, a bit holder 10
must be used. Use only the screwdriver bits that
fit the screw heads.
The integrated belt clip makes possible the hang-
ing of the drill on a belt.
In this manner, both hands are free and the ma-
chine is always at hand.
Always use the correct supply voltage: The
power supply voltage must match the information
quoted on the tool identification plate. Tools with
a rating of 230 V can also be connected to a
220 V supply.
