Practical Advice
General Sawing Instructions
uBefore making any cuts, first make sure that the saw
blade cannot come into contact with the stops or any
other parts of the tool at any time.
uThe holder for the protective guard must be aligned
with the saw blade in order to prevent the workpiece
from jamming.
Protect the saw blade against impact and shock. Do not sub-
ject the saw blade to lateral pressure.
Do not saw workpieces that have become bent or twisted
out of shape. The workpiece must always have a straight
edge to face against the universal guide.
Always store the push stick on the power tool.
Position of the Operator (see figureJ)
Keep hands, fingers and arms away from the running saw
blade.
Pay attention to the following instructions:
When using narrow workpieces or sawing bevel angles, al-
ways use the push stick(9) and the universal guide(2)
provided.
Pull-push saw operation:
Hold onto the workpiece tightly and press it firmly against
the stop.
Table saw operation:
Hold the workpiece firmly with both hands and press it
securely against the saw table.
uDo not stand in line with the saw blade in front of the
power tool. Always stand to the side of the saw blade.
This protects your body against possible kickback.
Maximum Workpiece Dimensions
Pull-push saw operation
Max. cutting length Max. workpiece height
220 mm 52 mm
Table saw operation
Bevel angle Max. workpiece height
52 mm
45° 35mm
Sawing – Pull-Push Saw Operation
When sawing with the slide function, pull the saw blade from
the back to the front through the workpiece while holding it
in place.
This operating mode is suitable for:
Cuts with and against the grain
Mitre/bevel cuts
Narrow workpieces
Conversion to a Pull-push Saw
When using the tool as a pull-push saw, the universal guide
must be fitted in the middle guide groove(25).
When using the tool as a pull-push saw, the saw blade needs
to be able to move freely along the entire cutting length.
Push the locking mechanism(11) to the right to loosen
the connecting rod.
Sawing with the Slide Function (see figureK)
Set the required mitre angle on the universal guide(2).
Note: To prevent the workpiece from slanting or slipping,
the distance between the saw blade(3) and the addi-
tional stop(21) must not be more than 15mm.
Set the required bevel angle.
Place the workpiece on the saw table in front of the pro-
tective guard(4).
Hold onto the workpiece tightly and press it firmly against
the stop.
Switch on the power tool.
Pull the saw blade(3) evenly to the front through the
workpiece using the connecting rod(10).
Push the connecting rod to the rear again.
Switch off the power tool and wait until the saw blade has
come to a complete stop.
Sawing – Table Saw Operation
When table sawing, push the workpiece backwards against
the fixed saw blade.
This operating mode is suitable for:
Cuts with and against the grain
Mitre/bevel cuts
Cutting lengths over 220 mm
Conversion to a Table Saw (see figureL)
When using the tool as a table saw, the universal guide can
be fitted in either of the two outer guide grooves(25) or in
the guide groove(24).
When using the tool as a table saw, the saw blade must be
locked in the middle of the saw table.
Push the locking mechanism(11) to the left and hold it
there. Pull the connecting rod(10) forwards until the
locking mechanism engages in the first set-up position.
Sawing
Set the required bevel angle.
Only when mounting the universal guide in the guide
groove(24): Set a mitre angle of 0°.
If required, mount the additional stop(21) on the univer-
sal guide(2).
Note: During sawing, workpieces may become trapped
between the universal guide and the saw blade, or be
caught and flung away by the saw chain as it rises.
Place the workpiece on the saw table in front of the pro-
tective guard(4).
Switch on the power tool.
Saw through the workpiece applying uniform feed.
When using narrow workpieces or sawing a bevel angle,
always use the push stick(9) and the universal guide(2)
provided.
Switch off the power tool and wait until the saw blade has
come to a complete stop.
