Troubleshooting
252 BlackBerry Wireless Handheld
If you have enabled wireless email reconciliation, your handheld recognizes when new folders
are created on your desktop. Refer to "Using wireless email reconciliation" on page 86 for more
information.
Why are new email messages on my handheld being marked as read?
If you briefly remove your handheld from the holster to stop notification, a new message might
be marked as read. If you remove your handheld from the holster when you are notified of a new
message, the new message is displayed on the screen. When you return your handheld to the
holster, the message closes. Even if you did not read the message, your handheld might mark the
message as read.
If you handheld is enabled for wireless email reconciliation on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server
version 3.6 or later for Microsoft Exchange, your handheld recognizes when messages have been
read on your desktop and marks them as read on your handheld. Refer to "Using wireless email
reconciliation" on page 86 for more information.
I deleted an email message on my desktop and then reconciled my email messages.
Why are email messages not being deleted on my handheld?
You must configure the Message List Options screen so that messages that you deleted from
your desktop are deleted from your handheld each time that you reconcile email messages using
the Intellisync tool. Refer to "To delete email messages on your handheld and your desktop" on
page 107 for more information.
Note: To use wireless email reconciliation, your handheld must meet one of the following
conditions:
If your handheld is integrated with an enterprise email account, your handheld must be
enabled for wireless email reconciliation on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 3.6
or later for Microsoft Exchange, or on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 2.2 or
later for Lotus Domino.
If you use the BlackBerry Web Client, your service provider must enable your handheld
for wireless email reconciliation.
Contact your system administrator or service provider for more information on whether
you can use wireless email reconciliation.
