10. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

CLEANING THE APPLIANCE DECALCIFICATION CYCLE

• To clean appliance body (1) use a damp cloth and avoid using abrasive cleaners.

• After each use, rinse filter holder (10) and filter under running water to eliminate any residual

coffee powder.

If necessary, use a soft brush to thoroughly clean both outside and inside of the filter that has

been used (fig.“U”).

• Periodically carry out a decalcification cycle, at least every 300 coffee.

• Fill tank (5) with water up to maximum level.

• Pour a dose of decalcifying liquid (non toxic and commercially available and suitable for coffee

machines) into water tank (5).

• Periodically clean filter holder housing with a damp cloth (fig.“V”) in order to eliminate any

residual coffee.

• Always clean cappuccino maker (9) after each use; clean it with a damp sponge.

• Periodically:

- Remove the grill (6) and the drip tray (7) and wash with normal dish washing detergent.

- Empty any water in the tank (5), rinse and dry it.

• All appliance parts, except appliance body (1), can be cleaned with lukewarm water and

normal dish washing detergent.

• Place a cup on the grill (6) under the filter holder spout.

• Wait until the coffee delivery switch light (16) is on and stays lit (otherwise the pump will

not start), then turn dial (18) to position ” ” to start delivery from filter holder spout.

• To stop delivery, turn dial (18) again to position “ “

• Repeat this procedure 2/3 times until all the water in the tank has been used.

BEFORE CLEANING, ALWAYS UNPLUG FROM THE MAIN OUTLET.

NEVER IMMERSE THE BODY OF THE APPLIANCE (1) IN WATER

OR OTHER LIQUIDS NOR WASH IT IN A DISHWASHER.

DO NOT USE METAL OBJECTS SUCH AS NEEDLES, NAILS, ETC WHICH COULD

DAMAGE FILTER.

DO NOT WASH FILTER HOLDER (10) IN DISH WASHER TO AVOID

DAMAGING IT.

CARRYING OUT THIS PROCEDURE WITH GREATER OR LESSER FREQUENCY DEPENDS ON THE

HARDNESS OF THE WATER BEING USED.

TO REMOVE ALL RESIDUES FROM THE CIRCUIT, AT THE END OF PROCEDURE, REPEAT THE

PROCEDURE AS DESCRIBED ABOVE USING ONLY CLEAN WATER.

WHEN USING DECALCIFYING PRODUCTS, ALWAYS FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS FOUND ON THE

PACKAGE PROVIDED BY THE PRODUCT MANUFACTURERS.

THE FILTER HOLDER MUST BE INSERTED BEFORE TURNING MACHINE ON, OTHERWISE MACHINE

CANNOT FUNCTION.

IF THE FILTER HOLDER IS NOT PROPERLY INSERTED , THE COFFEE DELIVERY LIGHT WILL

CONTINUE TO FL ASH.

CHECK THAT DIAL (18) IS IN POSITION “ “

• Press on/off switch (15) to turn machine on. Wait until light turns on and stays lit.

• Insert filter holder (10) into its housing (fig.“E”).
