Testsúly /Testtömeg-index (BMI, Body-Mass-Index)
A testtömeg-index (BMI) olyan szám, amelyet gyakran használnak a testsúly értékelésére. Ezt az értéket a
testtömegből és a testmagasságból számolják ki a következő képlet segítségével:
Testtömeg-index = testtömeg : testmagasság². A BMI mértékegysége ennek megfelelően [kg/m²].

Sportolók esetében gyakran alacsonyabb értékek állapíthatók meg. A folytatott sporttevékenységtől, az
edzés keménységétől és a testi adottságoktól függően olyan értékeket is el lehet érni, amelyek még a
megadott irányszámok alatt maradnak. Vegye figyelembe azonban, hogy a rendkívül alacsony értékek az
egészséget veszélyeztető tényezőkre utalhatnak.
