Tener presente che nel caso di corpi molto muscolosi (bodybuilder) l‘interpretazione BMI indica

un sovrappeso. La ragione di questo risultato risiede nel fatto che la formula BMI non tiene conto

della massa muscolare molto superiore alla media.

Percentuale di grasso corporeo

I seguenti valori di grasso corporeo sono un criterio di massima (per altre informazioni su questo

argomento consultare il proprio medico!).

Nel caso di atleti si nota spesso un valore inferiore. A seconda del tipo di sport praticato, inten-

sità di training e costituzione fisica, possono essere raggiunti valori dei inferiori ai valori indicativi

riportati nella tabella.

Si noti comunque che con valori estremamente bassi possono insorgere pericoli per la salute.

dei valori indicativi. Negli atleti agonistici, viceversa, i valori possono essere superiori a quelli indi-

cativi a causa della bassa percentuale di grasso e dell‘alta percentuale di muscoli.
