EINSTELLUNG DER FEDERGABEL
Soweit Ihr BEN-E-BIKE nicht mit einer starren, sondern einer sogenannten Luftfedergabel ausgestattet ist, bei der
im linken Gabelholm eine Luftkammer integriert ist., lässt sich über den Druck in dieser Luftkammer die Härte der
Federgabel auf das Fahrergewicht einstellen.
Wenn Sie die Härte der Federgabel verändern wollen, benötigen Sie dazu eine sogenannte "Dämpferpumpe".
Wenn Sie nicht über eine solche Pumpe verfügen, lassen Sie sich den passenden Luftdruck von Ihrem
Fachhändler einstellen. Versuchen Sie niemals mit einer gewöhnlichen Reifenpumpe oder gar einem Kompressor
die Federgabel aufzupumpen. Irreparable Schäden an dien Dichtungen sind auf diese Weise vorprogrammiert!
Zu beachten ist generell, dass schon beim Aufsitzen auf das BEN-E-BIKE die Federgabel leicht einfedern sollte - dies
ist der sogenannte Negativfederweg („SAG“). Ist der Luftdruck zu hoch, geht ein wesentlicher Sicherheits- und
Komfortaspekt verloren, weil der Reifen schneller den Bodenkontakt verliert. Sinnvoll ist ein Negativfederweg von
etwa 15 - 20%, was im Falle der "SMOOTHER"-Gabel ein Einfedern um ca. 15 - 20mm bedeutet.
Praktischerweise hat die Gabel auf der linken Seite einen Gummiring um die Einstellung de Luftdrucks zu
erleichtern:
• Schieben Sie den Gummiring ganz nach unten und stellen Sie das BEN-E-BIKE im unbelasteten Zustand
senkrecht.
• Heben Sie Ihr Kind nun auf den Sattel, so dass es mit den Füßen nicht den Boden berührt, sondern mit
seinem gesamten Gewicht das BEN-E-BIKE belastet und damit die Federgabel einfedern lässt.
• Wenn der Luftdruck in der Gabel korrekt ist, sollte diese nun um etwa 15 mm eintauchen.
