5 Expert cookng gude
Here you wll fnd a selecton of recpes and the deal settngs for them. We wll show you whch type of
heatng and whch temperature or mcrowave power settng s best for your meal. You can fnd nfor-
maton about sutable accessores and the heght at whch they should be nserted. There are also tps
about ovenware and preparaton methods.
Notes
The values n the table always apply to food placed nto the cookng compartment when t s cold and
empty. Only preheat the applance f the table specfes that you should do so. Before usng the appl-
ance, remove all accessores from the cookng compartment that you wll not be usng.
Do not lne the accessores wth greaseproof paper untl after they have been preheated.
The tmes specfed n the tables are only gudelnes. They wll depend on the qualty and composton
of the food.
Use the accessores suppled. Addtonal accessores may be obtaned from specalst retalers or from
the after-sales servce.
Always use an oven cloth or oven gloves when takng accessores or ovenware out of the cookng
compartment.
5.1 Defrostng, heatng up and cookng wth the mcrowave
The followng tables provde you wth numerous optons and settngs for the mcrowave.
The tmes specfed n the tables are only gudelnes. They may vary accordng to the ovenware used,
the qualty, temperature and consstency of the food.
Tme ranges are often specfed n the tables. Set the shortest tme frst and then extend the tme f
necessary.
It may be that you have dfferent quanttes from those specfed n the tables. A rule of thumb can be
appled: Double amount - just under double the cookng tme, half amount - half the cookng tme.
Defrosting notes
Place the frozen food n an open contaner on the lower wre rack.
Delcate parts such as the legs and wngs of chcken or fatty outer layers of roasts can be covered
wth small peces of alumnum fol. The fol must not touch the cookng compartment walls. You can
remove the fol half way through the defrostng tme.
Turn or str the food once or twce durng the defrostng tme. Large peces of food should be turned
several tmes. When turnng, remove any lqud that has resulted from defrostng.
Leave defrosted tems to stand at room temperature for a further 10 to 60 mnutes so that the tem-
perature can stablse. The gblets can be removed from poultry at ths pont.
