OWNER'S MANUAL
BATAVUS
Press the Plus/Minus buttons to select the User
program.
Press the Mode button.
The first profile bar will blink.
Use the Plus/Minus buttons to adjust the
resistance (level 1 -- 6).
Press the Mode button.
The second bar will blink.
Continue in this manner until all 20 bars are set.
If you do not wish to make any more entries (e.g.,
time), then press the Start button. To enter data,
press the Start button again. The time will blink
on Display 2. Now enter the desired data and then
press the Start button to begin training.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
1) The control panel of your cross trainer
is protected against incorrect operation.
Consequently, pushing the wrong button does not
create any problems. If you enter something that is
wrong or not possible, a signal sounds.
2) If you start training without entering values, all
values are displayed counting from zero upward.
3) If E-2 is shown on the display, something is
wrong with the connection to the magnetic brake.
Wait for 10 seconds. After this, you may have to
press the Total Reset button.
4) If you press the Total Reset button after training,
the data for this training session will not be stored.
5) If you preset data and then switch to another
program, these data will be saved if you do not
change anything.
6) Watts are displayed in all programs. However,
the resistance is only automatically controlled in
accordance with the previous inputs in the Watt
programs.
7) If you have preset values, for example, time,
distance or calories, the control panel stops when
any one function reaches zero. If you then press the
Start button, the control panel starts again using
the previous data.
8) In the Fitness program, it is not possible to
preset training values because this program only
uses your personal data.
9) If you enter an upper pulse rate (e.g., 130),
a signal sounds during training if the limit
is exceeded. This is so that you do not train
unintentionally at an excessive pulse rate.
10) If the control panel is in Sleep mode and you
begin pedaling, the last program used is displayed.
11) The actual pulse rate is displayed if you use the
hand pulse sensors, the ear clip or the chest strap.
12) Training with preset time and program profiles.
The preset time is distributed over the 20 profile
bars. Example: 20 minutes over 20 profile bars
corresponds to 1 minute until a switch is made to
the next bar.
13) Programs that require a USB stick with
personal data cannot be accessed without a USB
stick being inserted. They do not appear on the
display, for example, the H.R.C.
14) Following a training interruption where
the control panel enters the Sleep mode, you
may continue training using the existing values
(exception: Fitness test). To do this, press the Start
button or start pedaling.
15) Before the control panel can display the pulse
rate, it needs several seconds for calculation
purposes. Doing this, of course, requires a pulse
measurement using the hand pulse sensors, the ear
clip or the chest strap.
16) The pushbuttons on the rigid handgrip have
the same function as the Plus/Minus buttons.
17) In this unit, energy consumption is calculated
based on average values. However, as each
person has different capabilities for producing
energy (known as efficiency), the energy
consumption displayed can, by necessity, only
be an approximation of the actual consumption
and cannot be used for therapeutic purposes. The
energy consumption during a training session is
displayed in kcal (kilocalories). To convert this into
joules, use this formula: 1 kcal = 4.187 kJ.
18) Your cross trainer also has an odometer
function. The total distance of all training sessions
is shown briefly on Display 1 when you plug the
unit in or if the Total Reset button is pressed.
19) Example: ODO 15 K = 15 kilometers total
distance.
TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
Please follow these instructions when carrying
and moving the equipment about, because lifting
it incorrectly may strain your back or risk other
accidents:
The device is easy to move by pushing along on the
integrated transport wheels. Tilt the device from
the front and push along the floor on the wheels at
the front support. We recommend that you use a
protective base when transporting the equipment.
To prevent the equipment malfunctioning, store in
a dry place with as little temperature variation as
possible and protected from dust.
MAINTENANCE
The equipment requires very little maintenance.
Check, however, from time-to-time that all screws
and nuts are tight.
After exercising, clean the equipment with a soft,
absorbent cloth. Do not use solvents. Sweat may
cause corrosion: we recommend therefore that you
protect all metal surfaces outside the plastic covers
with teflon.
