• Hubs may never be oiled.
• Make sure that there is not too much
play in the hubs. This causes unneces-
sary wear.
• If you should want to take out the
back wheel, it is advisable to go to your
Batavus dealer, to avoid damaging
components!
You can adjust some of these hubs
yourself.
ADJUSTING THE SPECTRO 3-GEAR HUB
1. Put the gear switch in position 3 (17).
2. In order to make sure that the hub is
also in the third gear, move the pedals
up and down a few times.
3. Slide the cable holder so far over the
pin that the chain is not too tight (18).
4. Subsequently check whether the
gears are working correctly. If not,
press on the knob of the holder so that
the cable slackens and try again (19).

whether the yellow marking on the
gear shift unit (by the back wheel, on
the side of the chain guard) is between
the markings.
3. If not, adjust the position with the
cable adjusting screw on the gear shift
unit or gear switch.
ADJUSTING THE NEXUS 7 OR 8-GEAR
HUB
1. Put the gear switch in position 4.
2. Stand behind the bicycle. Check
whether the red markings (for the

are aligned. In order to be able to see
the dots (NEXUS 7) you now have to
push the back part of the chain guard
slightly to the left with your thumb
(20).
