B) Device handling
Always keep the cable away from rotating parts of the device.
Switch off the device once you are done with it. Wait until all moving parts have come to a
standstill. After switching off the device, the tools will rotate for a few seconds longer.
Never press the shaft locking device when the shaft is rotating.
If you hear any unusual noises, immediately switch off the device and pull out the power cord.
Switch off the device immediately if you notice any unusual vibrations or other indications of
defect. Find out what the cause might be.
Always keep the ventilation slits of the device clean and free of obstructions. The motor
fan sucks dust into the casing; heavy accumulations of metallic dust can result in electrical
hazards.
Keep the device clear of rain or moisture. Water penetrating into an electrical device increases
the risk of electrical shock.
Keep the cable away from heat, oil, sharp objects or moving parts of the device. Damaged or
tangled cables increase the risk of electrical shock. Do not use the connector cable to carry or
hang up the device or to pull the connector out of the socket.
The device must not be used under extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, intensive vibration
or moisture.
If the hazard-free operation of the device cannot be guaranteed, the device must be put out
of operation and secured against inadvertent operation. One may assume that hazard-free
operation is no longer possible if:
the device shows signs of visible damage,
the device no longer works,
after extended storage duration under unfavourable conditions,
after being subjected to hard transport-related stress.

C) Operational safety
Avoid bodily contact with grounded surfaces such as water and gas pipes, heating elements,
stoves and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electrical shock if your body is
grounded.
If you are working with a power tool outdoors, use only extension cables that are approved
for outdoor use. The use of extension cables suited for outdoor use decreases the risk of
electrical shock.
Keep your work area clean and tidy. Disorder and poor lighting or unlighted work areas can
lead to accidents.
Do not work with the device in areas where there is danger of explosion, flammable liquids,
gasses or dusts.
Keep children and other persons away from the device during operation. It is possible that you
loose control of the device due to distractions.
Pay attention to what you do and make sure that you go about your work in a sensible
fashion.
Do not use the device if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications.
One moment of carelessness when using the device can result in severe injuries.
Avoid accidental switching on of the device. Ensure that the power tool is switched off before
inserting the connector into the socket. If your finger is on the switch of the device or the device
is connected to the power supply, this can result in accidents.
Remove adjustment tools or wrenches before switching on the device. A tool or wrench that is
inserted in a rotating part of the device can result in injuries.
Ensure safe stance while working. Always keep your balance.
Do not wear any loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothing or gloves away from rotating
parts. Loose clothing, jewelry or long hair can get caught in moving parts.
Do not overload the device.
Disconnect the device from the power supply before making any adjustments to the device or
changing the tools. This prevents inadvertent starting of the device.
Keep the device out of the reach of children. Do not allow persons to use the device who are
not familiar with it or who have not read these instructions.
Keep the power cord away from rotating insert tools. If you loose control of the power tool, the
power cable can be severed or caught.
Handle the device with care. To ensure the device is working properly, check whether moving
device parts are working perfectly and do not stick, whether parts are broken or damaged.
Have damaged parts repaired before using the device. Many accidents are the result of poorly
maintained power tools.
When using third-party accessories, observe the operating advisories of the particular
manufacturer. Note the maximum speed when using third-party accessories or tools.
Ensure that all accessories and collet chucks of the device match.
Use only tools and accessories that are intended for such use or are identical in design for
this device.
The permitted speed of a replacement tool must be at least as great as the maximum speed
of the device.
