94 Receiving a Call
The EDIT soft key allows you to save the number you have dialed or insert dialing pauses. See
chapter Storing a Number on page 109 and chapter Entering a Dialing Pause on page 110 respec-
tively.
Receiving a Call
When a call is received, the phone rings and the Line icon blinks on the display. If the incoming
call can be identified (i.e. caller's information is transmitted from the network on which the call was
made and the caller doesn't hide it) you will also see the caller's number in the display. If the caller's
number was previously entered in the phonebook, you will see his/her name instead of his/her
number. When the phone is ringing you can:
Answer the call
, by pressing any key (except the right soft key). During the conversation, the display
shows the elapsed time.
Mute the ringer without answering the call
, by pressing the right soft key MUTE.
If the handset is on the base, simply pick it up to answer the phone. You do not need to press any
keys.
The caller's identification can work only if your telephone network supports the service as well as
the caller's one. However the caller can still hide his/her number.
When connecting this telephone to an Auerswald PBX the extended CLIP info needs to be acti-
vated for the subscriber (in the configuration program), so that the caller’s name will be transferred
as part of the CLIP information in a call to your connection. If the number is saved in the phonebook
of the PBX, the associated name will be displayed. But a name saved in the PBX will have second
priority to an existing entry in the phonebook of the telephone book.
When you miss an incoming call, the pop up message Missed Call will appears on the LCD fol-
lowed by the number of missed calls (01, 02 etc.). This message automatically disappears as soon
as you press a key.
Putting a Call on Hold
While you are on the phone, you can put the call on hold.
Adjusting Voice Volume
During a conversation, the up and down navigation keys adjusts the level of the earpiece volume
(or the handsfree speakerphone one, if activated). You can adjust the volume in three levels which
are showed by the bars of the volume icon. The more bars you see, the louder the volume.
To put the call on hold, press the left INT navi-
gation key during a call. The display shows ON
HOLD and your party doesn't hear your voice.
To reactivate the held call
, press the left INT
navigation key again. ON HOLD disappears
from the display and you can go on talking.
