2. INBETRIEBNAHME
2.5 CHARGING THE BATTERY
Your AUDIOLINE CDL971G rechargeable battery has a stand-by time of max. 67 hours at room
temperature and a maximum call time of up to 4 hours.
If the adjacent symbol appears in the display, the handset has been placed on the base
station and the battery is being charged.
If the adjacent symbol flashes, the battery is exhausted and you will hear a warning tone
during the call.
To charge the battery, place the handset on the base station with the display to the top or to the bottom. The
handset signals the start of the charging process by a short tone. The battery symbol in the display lights
up during the charging process.
Note: The battery must be charged for at least 12 hours before initial commissioning. Exactly like your
car battery, the rechargeable battery is unavoidably subject to a certain ageing. However, you can have
an influence on this ageing process by “training” the battery to a certain extent. In regular use of the
phone, if you cyclically charge and fully discharge the battery by using the telephone until the symbol
in the display flashes, a demand is placed on the battery and it will repay you by giving maximum
performance and a long life. Extended charging and extended discharging on the other hand will both
degrade the capacity and shorten the battery life.
2.6 TOUCH TONE (TTD) OR PULSE DIALLING (PD)
This trend-setting feature enables you to use your telephone not only on analogue exchanges (Pulse
Dialling) but also on digital exchanges (Touch-Tone Dialling). Touch-Tone Dialling is significantly faster than
Pulse Dialling and offers more facilities.
Note: The unit is set in the factory for Touch-Tone Dialling. If your AUDIOLINE CDL971G does not
work on your exchange, you can find out how to set your phone up for Pulse Dialling under item 4.3.
2.7 SETTING UP FOR T-NET
Your AUDIOLINE telephone supports the most important DEUTSCHE TELEKOM added value services
(e.g. brokering, call waiting, three-way conference, etc.). For this purpose, you will need the “FLASH 250ms”
setting. You can find out how to set the FLASH time in chapter 5.2.
Contact DEUTSCHE TELEKOM to gain access to these functions (some of which are subject to charge).
