Replacing the thread spool
Replacing the thread spool
1. Remove the battery.
2.
Press together both locking devices (C) on the spool
cover (17) and turn them in arrow direction.
3.
Remove the thread spool (18) from the spool cover.
4. Remove dirt and grass residues.
5.
Thread the end of the cutting thread (D) of the new
thread spool (18) in the opening (E) in the spool cover (17)
provided for this.
6.
Firmly place the thread spool (18) in the spool cover
(17). Make sure that the cutting thread is not caught and pull
it approx. 9 cm out of the spool.
7.
Put the spool cover together with thread spool on the
spring (19). Press the spool cover down and turn it in arrow
direction until it engages with a click.

Before cleaning work on the charger:
Pull out mains plug.

Clean the machine and its accessories thouroughly
after each application so that the faultless function is
kept.
 Make sure that the ventilation openings on the machine,
charger and battery are free (risk of overheating).
 Clean all movable parts on a regular basis.
 Remove dust and dirt with a cloth or a brush
 Do not clean the machine with running water or high-
pressure cleaners.
 Do not use solvents for the synthetic parts (petrol, alcohol,
etc.) as these can damage the synthetic parts.
 Keep handles dry and free of oils and grease.

Power off the machine and remove the
battery before each transport.

Remove the battery and store it in a dry place when the
power tool is not used.
Before a longer storage observe the following in order to
prolongate the service life of the machine and to guarantee
a smooth running operation:
- thoroughly clean the device
- treat all movable parts with an environmentally friendly
oil

Never use any grease!
- Store the battery at room temperature (19°C to 25°C)
and recharge it approximately once in a year.
- Protect the battery against short-circuit, e.g. by covering
the contacts with scotch tape.

Give devices, accessories and packaging to an ecofriendly
recycling.
For EU countries only.
Electrical devices do not go into the domestic
rubbish.
According to the European Directive 2002/96/EC
on electrical and electronic scrap, electrical devices
that are no longer serviceable must be separately
collected and brought to a facility for an environmen-
tally compatible recycling.
Lithium ion batteries do not fall under domestic
rubbish.
According to the European Directive 2006/66/EC on
batteries and rechargeable accumulators, defective
batteries/accumulators must be recycled. Bring
batteries/accumulators, which are no longer usable,
to local collecting points or dealers.

The lithium ion battery has passed the test procedures accord-
ing to the guideline "Transport of dangerous goods"
ST/SG/AC.10/11/Rev.3 Part III, 38.3
The battery is safe against internal excess pressure, extreme
temperatures and short circuits or external forces.
The lithium ion content of the rechargeable battery (either as
separate part or integrated in the device) is below the required
limit and thus does not fall under national or international dan-
gerous goods regulations. However, when transporting multiple
batteries, dangerous goods regulations may be relevant and
special safety requirements must be met, e.g. identification of
the packaging.
