removal of ice container
You remove the ice container as follows:
Lift up the left front corner. Draw the container
straight towards you, at the same time
supporting the container at the front and on the
right.
The ice container is fitted as follows:
Slide the ice container to the rear until the lip
slips into the groove in the shelf.
If the container cannot be slid fully to the rear,
remove it again.
Turn the knob of the drive mechanism a quarter
turn and slide the container into the freezer
section again.
Old ice cubes will turn cloudy and taste stale. In
that case, empty the ice container and rinse it in
lukewarm water. Allow the container to dry
thoroughly before you replace it. This will prevent
ice cubes freezing on the sweeper arm.
Set the icemaker's sensor to setting (= off) if:
– the water supply is cut off for some hours;
– the ice container is removed for some time;
– you go on holiday and turn off the water.

ice and water dispensing (continued)
Sometimes, a small mound of snow will form in the
crushed ice discharge opening. This is normal and
occurs when you often use crushed ice. This snow
will soon evaporate.
Release the dispenser switch. Hold a glass or
ice bucket under the discharge opening for a
few more seconds, in order to catch the last ice
cubes, crushed ice or drops of water.
Do not let any water get into the tray under the
grille of the dispenser opening. This is a drip tray,
not a drain!
Clean the drip tray frequently, so that no deposits
can form in it.
Remove the grille by pushing on the right side
of it.
The icemaker deposits eight ice cubes at a time in
the ice container. It is normal for some of the ice
cubes to freeze together.
If you do not use many ice cubes, large chunks of
ice may form in the container. The dispenser then
gets blocked. If this happens:
1 . Remove the ice container from the fre e z e r
s e c t i o n .
2 . Break the ice cubes loose with your hand.
3 . Throw away large chunks of ice.
4 . Replace the container in the freezer section
before the remaining ice cubes melt and freeze
