3.2. TIME DURATION
3.2.1. The guarantee period starts on the bicycle’s date of purchase.
3.2.2. Alpina gives a 5-year guarantee on manufacturing and/or material defects in the frame and xed front
forks.
3.2.3. Front forks with suspension are governed by a 2-year guarantee for manufacturing and/or material
defects.
3.2.4. Alpina gives a 2-year guarantee for chrome components and other painted sections in the event of
rusting.
3.2.5. Alpina gives a 2-year guarantee on components in the event of manufacturing and/or material defects.
3.2.6. Parts replaced by the Alpina dealer with Alpina’s approval during the are covered by the standard
guarantee period for the bicycle. After expiry of this period, the guarantee cannot be invoked for the part
that was replaced.
3.3. EXCLUSIONS
The above guarantee conditions are not applicable if:
3.3.1. The safety instructions or instructions for use are not followed;
3.3.2. There is normal wear and tear in parts, or components such as tyres, chains, brakes, cables and/or
sprockets have not been adjusted correctly.
3.3.3. The bicycle has not been maintained and/or repaired regularly by an Alpina dealer.
3.3.4. Adjustments have been made to the original condition of the bicycle, such as unrecognised Alpina parts
and/or accessories.
3.3.5. The bicycle has been used incorrectly and/or carelessly or not used in keeping with the purpose of the
bike.
3.3.6. The bicycle has been used for competitions.
3.3.7. The bicycle has been used for rental.
3.3.8. Damage has been caused by climatic effects, such as weathering of paint and plastics and corrosion and/
or rust.
3.3.9. Damage has been caused by failing to act in accordance with the user manual.
3.3.10. Damage has been caused by transporting the bicycle on bicycle carriers or trailers, etc.
3.3.11. Damage has been caused by exceeding the maximum permissible load on the front and/or rear carrier.
3.3.12. The maximum permissible load for the bicycle has been exceeded.
3.3.13. The bicycle has continued to be used despite being damaged and/or defective, which has increased the
damage.
3.3.14. The bicycle has been involved in an accident.
3.3.15. The bicycle was not supplied or maintained by an Alpina dealer.
3.3.16. Incorrect adjustment/tightening of the handlebars, handlebar stem, saddle, seat post, derailer set, brakes,
wheels and saddles. Late replacement of parts, such as brake and gear cables, brake blocks, tyres, chain
and sprockets.
3.3.17. Alpina rejects any liability for damage to the bicycle and its parts caused by the incorrect adjustment or
tightening of the moving parts of the bicycle and/or the incorrect use or maintenance of the bicycle
(including the late replacement of parts that are subject to normal wear and tear).
