1. Switching your radio on for the first time
1.1 Power Supply
The Main Adaptor is supplied with the package. You can select to use the radio with the
main adaptor or via alkaline standard batteries.
Connect the mains adaptor to the DC power socket of the radio to the wall socket.
For Battery operation (batteries not supplied) open the battery door and insert 6 x AA size
alkaline batteries.
Remark: Insert batteries correctly. Pay attention to the +/- polarization and observe the
indications in the battery compartment. You may as well use rechargeable NiMH batteries,
but please note that charging is not possible inside the radio. As soon as the mains power
adaptor is connected, the internal batteries or rechargeable batteries will be switched off.
Do not mixe old and new batteries or alkaline and NiMH batteries and use only the
supplied power adapter and no other adaptor.
Antenna:
• Extend the telescopic aerial as far as it can go.
• It may later be necessary to find the best antenna angle depending on the position
for best reception quality-
• Turn the Power switch to turn on the radio. The LCD backlight will light up during
the operation of the radio. The radio will automatically show:
Your DAB+ Radio will return to the mode that it was last used in (DAB+/FM). If you were
listening to a DAB or DAB + station before then this station will be automatically selected.
Note: Always make sure that the aerial is extended to ensure the maximum signal
strength and the best possible sound quality.
1.2 Adjusting the volume
Clockwise rotation the “VOL” to increase the volume and counter clockwise rotation the
“VOL” to decrease the volume
1.3 Changing stations
• If you are not already in DAB+ mode, Press the DAB/FM button to go to DAB+
mode, press again to go to FM mode.
• Rotate the “Tune/Select” knob to scroll through the stations. By default, the
stations are listed in numerical and then alphabetical order.
