6. PRESSURE REGULATION
The pressure switch is set by the manufacturer and the setting must not be
changed. Increasing the maximum pressure can damage the motor and may not
be suitable for some of the other components fitted.
The outlet tap at maximum unregulated pressure is standard for all other models
and it is therefore necessary to use an external air receiver.
The amount of air supplied depends on the outlet pressure and the amount of air
used. If too much air is used in the system the air pressure level will drop.
7. MAINTENANCE
Before carrying out any maintenance to the machine make sure that the
electric cable is disconnected from the electricily supply and that the
internal/external air receiver is emply. Dismantle the side panels and wait
for the compressor to cool down. Good and regular maintenance keeps
energy costs down and ensures a longer life for the compressor.
Tighten the cylinder head bolts on start-up and after first hour of operation to
allow for expansion.
Replace the oil after the first 100 hours and every 300 hours thereafter (oil
filler plug/breather and drain plug).
Use mineral oil Airpress.
Do not mix different types of oil. If the colour of the oil changes (white = water
content in the oil, dark = machine overheating) replace all the oil immediately.
Tighten the cap accurely making sure that there are no oil leaks during
operation. Maintain the oillevel to the red dot on the sight glass checking
weekly for to ensure lubrication.
Clean the intake filter depending on ambient conditions or at least every 100
hours (checking the hour counter). If the cartridge is clogged there will be a
loss of efficiency, if ineffective the compressor will wear significantly more
than normal).
The humidily in the air condenses in the air receiver and must be drained
once a week using the drain tap; this will protect the air receiver from
corrosion and maintain its capacily.
For the protection of the environment both exhaust oil and drained
water must be handled according to the locaI directives for the handling
of pollutants.
The belt transmission needs correct tensioning, if the belt is loose it will slip
on the pulley and overheat, thus wearing quickly and reducing efficiency. If
overtightened there will be an increased wear on the bearings and
overheating of the motor. It is essential to replace both belts at the same time
as they must have the same length so to share the load. AII panels must be
correctly in place for correct ventilation and for safety of the operator.
